Trouble is the big jobs don’t get offered to people like Potter very often. More often than not the big English clubs target the elite coaches from the continent. Getting his foot in the door at a top 6 club isn‘t necessarily a bad move.
A top 4 finish with Brighton would be a bigger achievement than anything he could possibly do at Chelsea imo. Hopefully he sees it the same way, but I get that it would be hard to turn down.

Feel for Brighton fans. They're having panic attacks most likely. If Potter goes to Chelsea then Brighton will be gone from the Prem very quickly

Think there was a rift between the owner and Tuchel behind the scenes, and I suspect it was caused by Tuchel not looking Boehly in the eyes when they shook hands at the end of the meeting.

I raise you a Sol Campbell. After all, he is one of the greatest minds in football.

That would be so damn funny. I mean, I would have to take the day off work if I woke up to that, there's no way I could drive laughing hysterically like that.

He’s not finishing top four with Brighton.
Stranger things have happened. They are playing great and seem to have finally added some cutting edge to their play. Wouldn't write them off at this stage, if they get lucky with injuries they have a shout imo even if it's a long shot.

I think people forget how long it took for Potter to get Brighton going. In his first two seasons he achieved 41 points scoring 39 and 40 goals respectively. He clearly has something about him and does deserve a crack at a higher level job but I still think he is a massive gamble for a big 6 club to take on.

And of all the clubs to take on of the big 6, Chelsea is probably the worst fit for him in that they don't want a manger to rebuild from the ground up but just want instant success.
