Yesterday- there is absolutely no connection between Abramovich and Putin

Today - Abramovich has been asked to use his close connections with Putin to help the peace talks

Whilst condemnation of Russia/Putin/Abramovich/Chelsea is thoroughly deserved, please remember that Saudi Arabia continue to bomb the fuck out Yemen indiscriminately and have caused a massive humanitarian crisis that's been going on for years. Don't let the ****s who own Newcastle and Man City out of the spotlight. Why the fuck they haven't been hit with any sort of sanctions baffles me tbh and smacks of double standards from our Government. Maybe if we were supplying Russia with weapons we'd be turning a blind eye to Ukraine as well.

Im aware of this-Chelsea need to clearly distance themselves form Putin - The club should be put under some pressure to issue a real statement of content on his views whether, his for or against the invasion.
Freundian slip?

Had a feeling that might happen. There's a difference between being one of his employees and being party to possibly bring to avoid any sanctions that might come his way. Why as a trustee would you put yourself in that position? makes no sense. Nobody knows what is going to happen until we find out if Abramovich is on Truss' list, why open yourself up to that personal risk?

I’d like the Government to start properly looking at the sources of all money coming in from countries/individuals with dubious backgrounds and dreadful human rights records. It goes beyond football, it’s about the kind of society we live in.

Absolutely, but they missed the boat when Mansour bought City and then doubled down when they stood aside and let those butchering bastards buy Newcastle.

I just hope if abrahmovich does have to sell Chelsea that whoever buys them isn’t somebody we’d want to own us. That would be typical of our luck.

Emma Hayes is one of the trustees - I wonder if this will have any effect on her position at the club.

I guess this is the same as putting your parents house into trust to avoid paying care home fees.
Does this now mean, under the freedom of information act, we can request minutes from the trust or am i wrong?
