Huge sliding doors moment for Chelsea, this.

Look at the difference between us and Utd last season following our respective manager changes.

If they get this right, given their squad, they could challenge for top 2 in the league. If they get it wrong they challenging for the Conference League next year.
At least they've spunked all their money beforehand though. Hard to see them spending another £100m in January to get players to fit the new coach.

When you start insulting the players each press conference and the referees and previously insulting the owners way of working, complaining about transfers after they spent 300m and agreed to loan out their 120m striker.

Yeah sure. Let's sack the coach without anyone ready to sign the contract. I'm "very sure" they'll get someone in before the next game lol. Great decision. Boehly will probably have to manage the next game by himself

Potter in charge of that squad would concern me
He would make most sense, they’ve built a squad around a back 3. So bringing in coaches who play 4 3 3 wouldn’t work really, particularly given their midfield issues.

I hope they follow the United route of forcing ex players into the set-up. Forcing the new manager to have Terry on their staff would be a car crash. The fans will be calling for Terry to take over after every blip they have.

Could be glorious.

Potter could be in with a shout for the England job if Southgate leaves after the world cup. If he takes the Chelsea job he would probably be ruling himself out. No Idea if he'd be interested in it though.
I’d hate it if potter went to Chelscum. Think he’d be an excellent England manager; and then become the spurs manager

Whoa! backed him with millions in the transfer market only to sack him 7 games into the season? Unbelievable.!

Yeah, I agree. I worry about Potter more than the 'big' names, excellent coach and they have the players for his system. It would be by far the best choice in terms of recruitment as well. Hiring someone of a bigger profile will have demands and they will need to bring more players in.

I feel like it would be a bad move for Potter whilst Boehly seems to be in charge of everything on the football side. If I was him I would only take the job if I got to choose a DOF.

Hahahahahaha.

What a fucking mess. Either the huge spending was at Tuchel's request and what manager is going to want to start with someone else's players on long contracts and huge wages, or the huge spending was at Boehly's instigation in which case what manager is going to want to start with the owner's players on long contracts and huge wages? Especially when it seems the owner is quite happy to pull the trigger 6 games into the season.

Massive alarm bells. If I were Poch or Potter I'd be turning the phone off for a few days.

Trouble is the big jobs don’t get offered to people like Potter very often. More often than not the big English clubs target the elite coaches from the continent. Getting his foot in the door at a top 6 club isn‘t necessarily a bad move.
