He turns like the Titanic...

I think that's a bit unfair on Charlie. He doesn't get turned very often at full back so not sure he would at centre back. His positioning is excellent as well which would help.

But regardless of Corluka's abilities at right back we need an experienced centre back. Woody is obviously gone and Ledley will play 50-60% of the games at best (probably).

Dawson and Bassong are excellent but if Ledley was to finally succomb to his various injuries I'm not sure I'd want them to be our central defence pairing for the whole season.

Why? They were for most of last season:shrug:

This.

If Walker has all of the attributes (as some have said - I haven't seen enough of him yet) then I would want him to get a chance to stake a claim now and again, but we do need experience.

Daws is definitely getting there but I'm always more comfortable (and I'm pretty sure that he is too) when he has Ledley (or Woody when he was fit) alongside him. And if Daws is out along with Ledley I wouldn't fancy going into a big game with Kaboul and Bassong together. I rate them both but more for their potential rather than automatic starters.

I'm gutted about Woodgate if it's true - he really started to look the real deal for us before it all went wrong... big loss

They weren't for alot of the big games though. And having an experienced alternative will both drive the two of them on in terms of not wanting to lose their place and give them someone to give them some experienced tips.

Without Ledders and Woody playing (in any capacity) we certainly need someone experienced as well).

Look at the size of fat Gio. He needs to join me in losing some poundage quick before Harry sees the state of him

Gio looks overweight (for a footballer). It's prima facie evidence to me that his attitude hasn't been right.

Thought Bassong was great for us last season. I think that King's miraculous 3 big games in a row at the end of the season left Seb as a bit of a forgotten man. He was great for large spells of last season and he's Kings natural successor when Ledders eventually drops out.

Having said that I am very dissapointed we didn't get Kjaer and I would still love Jags to come.
