He is Very young mate

He's 22, not 17
He has a bad attitude and is unprofessional , that's unquestionable. He had problems in the 2 clubs he's played for
Now if Poch likes him anyway and thinks he can teach him how to behave is another thing. But his age has nothing to do with it. It's not common to feign an injury to get transferred, regardless of the age

would love this. playing fantasy land, get this kid in, barkley, and a rb (cancelo/pereira) and we'd be set. Throw in a few prospects and it would be a fabulous window.

People seem to be quite excited by this link. Can someone explain why he would be a good signing?

I'm always a bit wary of players from the Italian league, but that probably shows my ignorance.

I really like the look of him - strong, really quick, excellent dribbler and an eye for a goal. Definite question marks over his attitude, but I would hope the club have done their research in the department if he really is a target.

Does look a good player, I think with Lazio seemingly wanting to sell they would be telling other suitors we were in discussions to jack the price up. The lack of media around it suggests we aren't going after this one.

If you want a Mane type player then this is the one we should be going all out for. I want this transfer more than the Barkley one!

This signing together with Barkley make so much sense and it could also enable us to sell Janssen, Sissoko and GNK (and increasing our overall Squad strength).

We would then have Kane as as the obvious first choice forward, but instead of a pure number 9 on the bench we would have Son and Balde Diao capable of playing several positions (Like Firminho for Liverpool).

Imagine these options for our attacking positions:

Forwards: Kane, Son, Balde Diao
AMs: Son, Balde Diao, Eriksen, Barkley, Alli and Lamela

That look pretty strong imo.

With Onomah gone as well, signing 2 players to replace 3-4 isn't a good idea - I'd definitely keep one of Janssen and Nkoudou.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but he's pretty much the perfect signing for us. I've thought that for the last eight months and written a ton of posts here, including earlier in this thread, explaining why. He's got the potential to be top class. 16 goals in less than 2000 minutes in Serie A at 22 years old is remarkably good. He has the high end pace of Zaha with the ball striking ability of Eriksen. He isn't the finished article yet, tends to overdribble, and can be greedy in attack, but his talent is immense. Juventus, who are probably the best in the world at scouting talent, are already massively overloaded with attackers, yet they still want to sign him. That should tell you something.

Most importantly, he ended last year on fire when he was asked to play in a lone striker role for Lazio. His trajectory is pointing straight upward and has so far continued to behave professionally while seeking a move away from Lazio. Like I've said before, this idea that Poch doesn't go for players with some history of bad behavior isn't really true. Osvaldo, Berahino, Zaha (go look at some of the articles written about his time at United), Sissoko all had question marks concerning them when Poch targeted them.

He'd be a game-changer of a signing. If he's open to moving to England, we'd be daft not to go hard for him.

I think most of the noise seems to be from the juve side at the moment, with lazio quick to shut it down (could be horribly wrong by just what I've read). As with our deals when people are saying to sell cheaper abroad, surely that also applies to lazio who would prefer he wasn't at juve I'm sure. That's if he's a target of ours at all.

Usually I would agree with you but with the various ITK about interest in a player based in northern Italy and the fact Gards has been active in this thread - I think the interest might actually be real

Didn't one of the itk's say we were talking with a player in the Italian league? I believe Lazio only want 30m, I hope we are all over him. Top class.

He's also been linked today by Darren Lewis journo for the mirror, that has been good with Spurs news in the past.

I see no way we could take him from Juve if the rumors are true. Still, this guy is exactly what I think we're missing up front. Strong, quick, skillful, a bit of a cocky prick as well. If his ego can be reined in he has the commitment and physique to press very well, and while I haven't seen him play alone much he's a much scarier sight than Janssen for opposing defenses.

I remember discovering this guy during the Berahino saga and thinking he'd be a better fit. Very excited to hear this.

Stuff like this makes you realise why the club keeps stuff super close to their chest.
Talented, young, cheap and supposedly wants a prem move

If we were seriously and publicly interested instead of acting shy I could envision Chelsea buying him just because, or united .

Shame we have to be so sneaky because we're surrounded by pricks

7 players for 3 or 4 spots (depending on formation) should be enough. Especially if we want to give any youngsters game time in some cups

He's in the last year of his contract so you'd expect them to drumming up interest in a similar way to Koeman is for Barkley. I think the player we will be after probably has a longer contract but we are (Highly optimistic) making them an offer they can't refuse.

Other clubs seemingly know the Balde situation and yet it's only Juve that seem to be making noise.

JJ hasn't ever mentioned "Northern" italy specifically by the way. I think Breezer mentioned Juve but can't recall who said Northern. It's all opinion and not facts but this doesn't stack up to me. He looks a good player and a better option of what we wanted Sissoko to be. Would be happy if this was the one.

I still think we will get a surprise from the Italian links, I'm hoping it might be Schick still.

Remember, Juve spent 35+ on Bernadeschi. There's only so much hovering up of a young Italian-based talent they can get through without actually moving their own players on which they haven't seem to do so far.

Exactly the player we need. Hopefully third time lucky for Poch + co when it comes to young pacey wingers (N’Jie + GKN prior).
It’s a no-brainer that all we’re missing is that extra bit of zip up top, a player who can stretch games and has opposition defences worried about the space behind them as well as the action in front. (Just look at Mane for Liverpool).
Better yet he was at Barca’s youth for six years, not a bad footballing eduction that La Masia, eh;)
