How many times has Foyth actually played RB for us? Can only remember vs Man City away last season
Played 4 times, 3 times as a starter, and showed something to me.

Man city
West ham
Ajax (10 mins)
Redstar

...and being sent off against Bournemouth playing there, and losing the ball against Norwich where they scored playing there and on and on and on!

What are the other times if they're so frequent and obvious that everybody except me presumably knows them?

Think he could turn out to be great, but I also get a real Vlad Chiriches vibe from him too. In an ideal scenario we'd probably loan him out for a season, but we're clearly in need of money, so a sale with a high sell on percentage for any future transfer wouldn't be the end of the world.

In the Athletic today:

The latest is that he has not yet sat down to discuss his future with the club but that for the moment he wants to stay and fight for his place. There’s also a month-long gap between the season starting and the summer transfer window closing, so unless he has more clarity before then, he will wait to see if his first-team prospects have improved and if not look for a move elsewhere.

As we have reported previously, Foyth feels he needs to move soon, either permanently or on loan, if he continues to be overlooked.

He essentially man marked Sterling in that game and played very well.

Foyth reads the game well when he is in the right stance, he just needs to play more.

Rather him stay then go after kim min jae. Younger with a ton of potential. So save the money. It’s all between the ears with him. I’d loan him out to a Premiership side, hope the regular game time helps his develop snd cut the mistakes and rashness out of his game. Use Davies as 5th CB and give some opportunities to Fagan-Walcott

Yes, if Foyth wants to fight for his place at Spurs, that seems fine to me. Loan him to Leeds or some similar team and see if he can stay fit and develop. If we are about to buy a CB it should be someone with more experience who can help and compete immediately. We have talent with Tanganga and Malachi to fill the squad and to develop.

I'm honestly surprised with the state of finances in the world that our RB options next year won't be Foyth and Tanganga. I think both have shown enough potential in that position where each could have 20-25 games there in a season.

I'm also not the manager so he must want something different.

If we don’t loan him out, I’d like to see if Jose can mould him into a DM as cover for PEH.

Really tough one because he's not good/reliable enough to play for a Mourinho team atm and we've a surplus of good CBs, yet if he was playing for Leipzig or Lille or Ajax right now we'd all probably be clamouring to sign him.

Think he's potentially worth a lot more than the 15m or so we could get from him this summer so a loan to prove his worth week in week out would be ideal imo.

The ideal thing would be an extension to the contact and loan him out for the season. That's probably more ideal for us than Foyth, though.

Bet he will play 90min tomorrow and Toby will be dropped.
I hope.

I still think he should be in our plans as a RB/CB option. He was excellent last match — the only CB in the squad with the vision to make the pass for his assist. He needs a few more matches to show Mourinho what's up.

I´m still slightly surprised he has never been properly tried/tested in a deep lying anchor role in the midfield.

Getting minutes is what he really needs for him to develop. An anchor role would be beneficiary for his development as a CB, would help cover one of the squad´s glearingly black holes (PEH can´t play every single minute AND it looks like JM wants to use him more as an box-to-box?). And: this was his role in his earlier years in Argentina.

If he can´t get the minutes with us this season, I hope he goes out on a loan and is not sold: think he has a bright future and that we would regret selling him.
