OK, first off I have to say that that's a great story and I enjoyed its plausibility very much - it was real to me and spoke to me as a reader.

But, I have to draw you up on one point and it's a minor one, I admit. Far be it from me to criticise you as an author or your 'process' as I believe you creative types refer to it as, but can I ask:

If Kane's been kidnapped by Russian gangsters, why have they let him out to go and eat pie and mash allowing Harry and Sandra to recapture him?

I know, I know, I'm being nitpicky. I'm just a reader, you're the author. There's no doubt a meaning behind it and I can't see it. Apologies.

On reflection there are too many people called Harry in this story. I had to cut a whole chapter about Harry Winks finding himself on a 6 month well building project in Guatemala. I might swap Redknapp outside a pie and mash shop for David Ginola outside a hairdressers in the final edit.

At least we have couple of youngsters that are ready to take the next step now, like Tanganga, Sessegnon, Skipp and some new players like Rodon, Hojbjerg, Bergwijn (hopefully does better with next coach), Reguilon and others that weren't a part of that group.

What is he on about? I've liked Sissoko for attitude and when he had his period of being good he offered a lot, despite a shocking touch. But to say that is rediculous. He is not good enough for top 10 let alone top 4.

I like the use of tropic messaging, I must admit. It strikes me as redolent of Kandinsky's use of abstract forms to convey the deep uncertainty and spiritual power of the human soul. To that end, I think a scene involving Danielle Lloyd might be in order, possibly with Jamie O'Hara as the wizened traveller returning to his lost love - a commentary on modern society's descent into the too-much-too-soon rentier milieu.
