I just realised a loophole Levy has now. If Jose had agreed not to take a payout if he misses out on CL qualification then with no such competition we can sack him

We were never going to win the Carabao with him in charge, so makes sense to get rid. Would've been better if had been done earlier to give us a chance of top 4.

Even 8 days ago, would've given us the opportunity to beat both Utd & Everton and potentially be 5 points better off. If that happened, we would've been 4th on goal difference.

Stephen Warnock on Sky:

“...other than Kane and Son, probably only Sissoko gets into the other top 4 sides. Sissoko has been held back massively by Jose Mourinho”

Wow.
Sometimes I think the presence of Sky as a commercial entity is a facade constructed by powerful social scientists testing how much fuckwittery the general public can absorb before we start eating each other

psst. Don’t think being in top 4 means anything nowadays

Pleased he's gone, very surprised at the timing though. But Levy better know that this ain't just about the manager. If he think's a new manager will get a top 4 winning tune out of this squad, he's well off. And he'll be looking for another one in twelve months.

I think the wording relieved of duties does have something to do with another breach of contract. I think it's a carefully worded phrase, with the club anticipating some lengthy litigation.
Speaking as an employment lawyer, it's interesting that it says he's been sacked, rather than the other thing you see, "by mutual consent".

But it doesn't mean there's litigation on the horizon. He's been sacked. Whether he brings some sort of claim is up to him and, as always, depends on what actually happened behind the scenes.

I mean I doubt it.

When I send an email saying that something will follow in "due course", it means I haven't remotely started that thing and there are 12 other things I'm going to do before that thing and you should expect it in a couple of weeks, or more time if you don't chase me for it before then.
I will reply to this in due course Stoof

The more I think about it, the more it's obvious that Jose going and Ledley staying was definitely a tactic to get fans back on side. Sadly, I tihnk the Super League pushed some too far past the line to turn around.

Been looking forward to being put out of our misery for weeks now but somehow Spurs have even ruined this for me.

First with the Super League stuff and now sacking him just before the final. I assumed we were only plodding on for that purpose. The last few weeks feel wasted now.

Oh well hopefully we'll see some better football on Weds and hopefully see Bale again. Plus how awesome would it be for Mason to win the Cup, fairytale stuff!
