One of my all time heroes. Impeccable consummate professional, does massive amounts for charity, and an all round superb player.

I've been a bit of an Inter fan since 1990, and remember him arriving on the scene as a quick and flairy right midfielder. The fact he still operates in midfield is amazing, and whilst many players look past it at Inter, he isn't one of them. Could still have several years left at right back. It was also a travesty that he missed the last two World Cups for Argentina due to ridiculously terrible management. Was gutted for him on each occasion, yet who did they instantly turn to again to play for them, as soon as each WC had ended in failure ?

Anyways, here's a wee clip from Inter's game today. SImply incredible that he still has the pace and the engine. This is well into the second half as well

Sorry ?

The video highlights the fact that at 38 years old, he still has incredible pace and continues to not really tire during games. I can't think of any other player off hand, who has gone on until 38 years old without at least dropping off noticeably in both of these facets

But you would of thought someone of his ages and experience would of known the offside rule by now

play by the whistle is the attitude to go. or would u prefer the darren bent attitude, knows hes offside, decides not to run, realise linesman missed the call.

Keano seems hell-bent on being a mug instead of appreciating what a great player Zanetti is. I used to like Inter from the time when they had Ronaldo, Vieri etc. and he was always a player I greatly admired. Such a pro and so versatile, he's just a great all-rounder who never puts a front wrong. He has 560 appearances for Inter, a great achievement and shows just how loyal he is too.

Some decent replies at last !

Has Zanetti ever been red carded ? I'm not sure, but I'd take a guess at saying no. People talk about Neville Scholes Giggs etc, but this guy has slowed down even less. If he were suddenly available on a free, I'd take him on a 2 year deal, and thats saying a lot given he's 38 years old. Would bring so much to the squad in terms of mentality and professionalism.

Once, on Dec 3rd last year against Udinese. Two yellows.
