On their forum it’s been said they have 28 players for a 25 man premier league squad. They’ve got to sell before they buy. Many are complaining they’ve got too many players on high wages they can’t shift. Someone posted a list of players that have cost £200m in the last 6 years that have been poor buys.

The owner is in town now apparently and they believe this may kick start some transfers. Interestingly their transfer rumours section doesn’t have a page for Maddison. Not that I could find anyway. if there is there hasn’t been a post since May.

However on his player page there’s compliments on him keeping fit over the summer and returning to training it top shape and many think he will be even better this season. He seems to have got his act together after the birth of his first child and settled down a bit. Last summer he was on the piss in Ibiza.

There’s a debate as to whether they have an automatic option to extend his contract this summer. Some are convinced ITK have said there is, others disagree.

Appreciated!

Odd how quickly things change in football. Not too long ago they were regularly held up in the football world as the example of good business and squad building

Would certainly give our midfield something different .

bentancar, skipp , Bissoma, Hojberg is a outstanding quartet. But If we are looking for a central midfielder to get us a goal from no where that could hit double figures for goals and be able to play the role in a 3-5-2 if required then Maddison could be that player .

Perhaps, and i'm merely just speculating here, Maddison is back on our radar because other targets like Ruiz (Napoli) are now a harder transfer to secure after the Koulibaly sale and Paqueta seemingly closer joining either Newcastle or Arsenal than us.

Maddison in a World Cup season makes all the sense in the world. He finished last season on fire as well.
Huge ceiling with him still IMO.

Spence gives us the option of a foreign AM, but we can never have too many HG players. And if the HG option is of a similar level and price to a non-HG one, then it’s HG every day of the week for me, even more so when they have thrived in the league. Can’t say I particularly like Maddison as a person, but he’s a top player and the formational versatility he’d provide is great too. Has that something special with the vision and final action; direct set piece excellence something else we lack that he doesn’t.

people keep talking about a ‘foreign’ AM but Maddison is a better option than anyone I’ve seen mentioned. He’d be an amazing signing. Certainly offers a lot more of what we need than Paqueta for example.

This would be an absolutely insane window if it comes off. Beyond our wildest dreams really. I guess this is what it means to back Conte.

Wonder if his set piece ability will be a factor. We know Conte wants us to improve in this area given we’ve just brought the specialist coach in.
