Thread on the front page says:-
Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Leeds United winger Jack Clarke, with an official announcement expected tomorrow, according to Beren Cross of Leeds Live. The 18-year-old Englishman has signed a five-year contract with the north London side. It’s reported that Leeds will have the first option to loan him back should Spurs wish to send him out at any stage.
Which isn't quite as conclusive on the loan back, possibly a compromise.

See, logically this makes so much sense - thing is, this is Spurs.

Probably some bollocks, let's hope it's not too negative.

Clarke will hopefully benefit though so it's not really all that bad, from a certain point of view.

Could even be linked to a decision on a certain Master Edwards..all guess work I suppose ?

That's what was reported before today's news.

Guessing this is why the announcement was delayed. Talks contunuing over the loan plus the hope we can announce Ndombele early this week.

We can knock the decision to loan-back but I think we'd have all been delighted now if we did the same with Grealish last season. Still a positive move IMO, especially with the Poch-Bielsa link.

I wonder if Spurs are self aware enough to know that our first signing shouldn't be a loan back

Pointless loaning him back, I've said it before on here but there were times when the only attacking option on our bench last season were Llorente or Janssen. I have no doubt he'll get valuable minutes with the injury record of players like Lamela.

The thinking (as others suggested yesterday) is that something has changed with the Eriksen situation to make us believe he may actually be going. Therefore we may be going in for an extra attacker, which would probably push Clarke back and limit his game time. So it may be better for him to get minutes with a coach who Poch trusts and it wouldn't disrupt his development.

Not saying that is the case as it could be something else, like Leeds demanding it, or Clarke wanting it but it would make sense as something clearly changed in the 11th hour.

He’s only made 25 appearances for Leeds of which only 4 were starts.

He’s clearly not ready for a place in our first team squad so the only question is does he train with the squad or go back to Leeds to gain experience?
Poch tends not to loan youngsters but, as someone pointed out, he’s close to Bielsa so would trust him more than every other manager.
He’s one for the future, not right now.
I agree we need more attacking options but Sessegnon plus one other should solve that problem in the immediate.

Will he play much at Leeds though, that’s the issue. He was struggling for game time last year and they look like they want to add more in that area for next season. A loan is not a bad thing, but back to Leeds I’m not so sure, especially as he’s not gonna be their kid anymore. are they really going to prioritise his development when they want to give the league another crack.

Maybe there will be playing time clauses in the loan deal if a loan back happens ?

Didn't Phil Hay say we would announce him today? He's supposed to be tier 1 for Leeds. ?
