Since you asked...

Your post crudely conflated the adjective "depressing", with the illness "depression".

The former means "causing or resulting in a feeling of miserable dejection", it does not mean "inducing clinical depression", and conflating the two is crass at best, or moronic at worst, take your pick.

I assumed the former, hence my "wtf" rating. As in, "wtf, is this douchebag for real?".

Also I enjoy the fact that you chose to single my rating out ahead of anyone else's responses to your posts, and complemented it with the word "FABULOOUS" (sic) in block caps.

Once you've got your head around "depressing", we'll make a start on "thinly-veiled homophobia", if you like?

Peck head.
There was two ratings to my post yours and dougals they both got a comment, your not special, and the fabuloos in CAPS was just a reference to John Barrowman being everywhere on TV atm. Sorry if I made you play the racist/homophobe card wasnt my intention.

You respond to everyone who rates your posts? Tragic, mate.

Nearly as tragic as watching things with John Barrowman in.

There are 92 league clubs.

Being the third best is depressing apparently.

That’s exactly what I thought. We have some damn entitled fans.

We are going through our most consistent period in the league for decades. I swear some people have been fans for five minutes or literally can’t remember how bad we’ve been in the past. You read twitter after a defeat and I’m not sure if people are actually spurs fans or not when they are proclaiming to be.

When it comes to trophies we're joint 9th with Swansea and Birmingham in this decade.

is there a time limit to this, or can I point out that in the past 137 years we have won the fifth most trophies?

We have also finished in the top 3 for the past three seasons and are on course to do it again this season. Previously we had not done this for 26 seasons.

Being a Spurs fan is anything but depressing. Just because we want even better, doesn’t mean we can’t be grateful for what we have.... unless we are spoilt of course.

Today my friend got rejected for a visa to go over to the states to be with his cancer fighting girlfriend and revisit the life he built over there. That’s something to be depressed about. Supporting this fine team awash with top international footballers, with its excellent manager and brilliant chairman, that is not depressing at all.

I remember the 90's and 00's all too well, this has been a breath of fresh air in comparison. Its better to try and fail than not try at all. Its not even heart break, the squad we have at present and the injuries it was always going to be a tough as. And it will be the same again on Sunday and again against Dortmund. All this highlights is the end of further investment in the squad.

Lighty I don't want to keep arguing as we are all spurs fans and all of us probably feel a bit if only this morning, but I don't think it is all down to injuries because the players missing all played the 1st leg.
Over both legs they were the better team and are as i have said before serial winners who know how to get over the line which is something that as yet we are not nor can do, I'm gutted but they are better than us still as we tend to lose these high pressure big games but still now it's on to Sundays game which will be tough and palace could spring a surprise :)

been a sleep all day, had a shit head when I 1st started reading this this morning, thought some tabs and shut eye would do the trick, shut eye equalled 7 hours, shit head still here:ROFLMAO:

I'm not arguing they do have serial winners, but not sure that should be considered they could only beat us on pens. they should of been out of sight 1st half but wasn't.

all I was saying is you hinted at lack of transfers, pointed at other clubs and Ive not seen 1 player signed by another club this season that would be straight into our starting XI

It's all about your own personal attitude. Too many people are pessimistic and I guess it takes a lot to get out of that habit. Personally I am very optimistic by choice now but was more negative before. Not just with Spurs but life in general. I was always that guy who thought 'shit always happens to me'. I used to focus too much on the small negatives that I missed all the postives. I went through spells of depression for a number of years and I was only in my 20s. I was in a job I didn't like and didn't have much of a life outside work either. Once I was out of that job I made a career change but also decided to change my whole attitude so I didn't feel down so much anymore.

I can honestly say it was the best thing I ever did. I put a lot more focus on the positives and then started finding new positives as well. I am much happier in life now. It's funny because I feel Spurs and my life run parallel really. I guess it does for most of our fans as well. That's what football does though, it becomes a huge factor on how you feel. I do still feel shitty after a result like last night but it always washes away in a couple of days. As soon as it's gone I'm back to feeling positive again. This club is amazing it really is. So unique in how we go about our business in this billionaires playground called football. I will always be proud of this club and there are so many more positives going for us than negatives.

We're following the 3rd best team in the country at the moment. We're into the qualifying round of the Champions League after an incredible turn around in the group. We're still in the FA Cup. We have the best stadium in England so very close to being completed. There are much worse situations than ours. In a week where a footballers life was tragically ended having just signed for Cardiff. In a season where a teams owner tragically died in a helicopter crash. Yet here we are complaining about a few injuries, losing a semi final, a delay in a stadium build, a 90k capacity stadium that we're using not being to our liking, and not signing the players we want.

Come off it. Let's be honest, If you aren't upset/gutted/depressed (or whatever adjective you choose to describe the feeling) by our lack of luck, whether it be regarding the stadium issues, or our lack of luck in key moments during key matches, injuries, etc., then you're, simply put, lying. The bad news keeps coming our way. And it sucks. And it is depressing.

Being so close, yet so far is depressing. Watching our best team and best manager in decades fall short and not win anything is depressing. Our delayed stadium is depressing.

And yet, we have to be and should be so excited about what the future holds for this club. Because I too believe we are close to great things and it will come. I just hope we get more time with this team and most importantly with Poch.

OK, we're fucked

Ask yourself why you love football and why you love spurs. Then all this trophy, injury, transfer and Poch talk won't matter.

Pretty sure many Spurs fans are so institutionalized to a lack of trophies, they just gloss over it and go "well we are 3rd in the league".

Really? So what? I mean it's good and all, but can't we just win some fucking trophies? The owner isn't spending the money so we have no hope of ever winning a PL or CL. So surely the other two cups are our best bet? or are Spurs fans just happy with finishing 3rd and 4th and never winning anything?

I thought last night was an absolute fucking disaster of a result. Yet again we lost to Chelsea in a big cup game. Unfortunately Poch is not showing himself to be a manager with a win at all costs mentality. Not so far anyway. Yes, we display remarkable consistency in performances and results under him generally, and do pull off some great cup results, but only at a certain stage. As soon as we get to a semi final, or a big knock out we generally lose.

We wouldn't have won the Final against City without Kane and Alli anyway. It wouldn't feel right not having Kane in the final with us but that is a separate thought and emotion.

There isn't a single doubt in my mind, that after 4/5 seasons with us, Poch should have won a trophy. He's continuously been schooled by other managers, in charge of teams with similar levels of talent. Conte first season in this league, won the league and knocked us out the FA Cup. Mourinho, cup semi last season. Sarri, first season here, won fuck all before, in charge of a team without a striker below us in the table, lose again.

It's really not good enough and I pity any Spurs fan who thinks it is. Time is fast running out for this team to win something. Eriksen and Alderwerield will be off in the summer. I feel like I say the same thing every season and it's the same old story. Poch doesn't seem to be able to take us over the line. I find it remarkable that with the talented team we have, we've been one of the top 3 sides in the country under Poch, we still haven't won a single trophy in 4 years. It's not great is it. On one hand, you commend Poch for making us a top 3 side, on the other hand you question, how the fuck can we be a top 3 side yet still not win a trophy? It's so frustrating.

other than us fans having a great day out, and seeing our captain lift a trophy winning a domestic cup over finishing in the top 4 will not help our future, it definitely never helped us at the end of 2008 season, and the mess we was in before Arry took over wasn't good, but at least we had a trophy.

the thing is we wasn't embarrassed last night, wasn't a great 1st half, but we lost on penalties, and had we won it's not as if our name would be on the cup, having to face City the strongest squad in the League. if we stood up on the day we would be guaranteed a place in the Europa a cup you all moan about because Thursday/Sunday's. The last time we reached the Final saw us burn out towards the end.

why is 3rd or 4th better than winning a cup and finishing 5th?

we now need a decent sponsor for the Stadium to help towards the loans, that will give us more money to pay wages and hopefully sign players.

if we are hoping to sign players will better ones sign for a CL team or a Europa league team, and will our players want to stay if they get an offer from a CL team.

in our 1st 4-5 seasons we need to fill the stadium up week in week out. okay we won't if we have home games in the CoC most fans don't think it's worthy of supporting us, but get the hump when we don't win it. or an FA Cup match and same again get feed up when we don't win it. if we was playing in the Europa league, we would have 3 matches in a half empty stadium, yet get the hump because we don't put a full team out on the KO's (not forgetting the prices we sell for these comps). yet the CL would be near on full the club don't sell tickets cheap and the money goes towards what ever they use it for, but will help towards Stadium cost, something the other 3 wouldn't cover even if we went on to win all 3.

when it comes down to Poch not winning anything yet, it's not like he is losing to shit teams in the semi's or the final, clubs that have been backed for generations and until now where way ahead of us in the financial world. the only one being Leicester in his 2nd season.

we all know there is a very good chance we will have to let Toby go in the summer, we are not going to pay him near on the same money we pay Kane. Eriksen will be because his dream might come true, not because we haven't won an FA Cup or CoC

To be fair mate eriksen if he goes to Madrid will pick up silverware like it's going out of fashion and wages they barely go a season without winning something at spurs he could have been there 10 years and won nothing still.
As for last night we was two nil down and it was too easy for them especially as our defence has got progressively worse this season we are struggling to keep clean sheets we have the worst record in the top four maybe even top six.
The stadium I'm not convinced will be a game changer like many think it will be or are we to assume that levy will suddenly jump out of the shadows with a Tommy gun shouting to the rest of the top six "look out there is a new kid in town" as that is not happening he will I'm sure maintain a rigid and predictable company policy of frugality.
