You can't deny he's pretty damn high, though.

I swear, that isn't supposed to sound like I'm from the ghetto. What can I say? I'm a natural.

hi yb :) - interesting stuff, as I posted earlier in the McGeady thread it wouldn't amaze me if Keane left - and I precisely mentioned JR's fondness for subbing RK being an indicator that maybe JR doesn't rate RK as highly as many Spurs fans do

Well, this has been suggested by Jim Duggan on Topspurs.

On the other hand, Jol regularly put Peanut Head on and took Keane off after about 70 minutes, so what's new? And whilst Keane may be a tad hacked off that it's always him that gets subbed, Berbatov would almost certainly flip his wig completely.

Just got off the phone with someone who's very high up in the club. I questioned about Keane because of the rumours circulating today from another ITK. Basically he's said that they're getting slightly annoyed with Keane because he's getting annoyed that he's not been finishing games and if he carries on they're open to offers. He also said it's more likely that Berbatov will stay and Keane leave, rather than the expected other way around. He also said that we're planning on a huge signing up front. I asked if it was David Villa and my contact just laughed. Did he think I was dreaming or was he hiding something?

Take it as you will. I know how well regarded my contact is in the club but even I can't see Keane leaving. But who knows, it's a funny old game.

Now I'm not going to joust with you, but despite the fact I know for a fact that Juande considers NO-ONE more important than the team, can I ask you to ask your source if their comment means that should Keano complain during the final to matches of the season then the club will listen to offers?

Because really, when you sit and think about it, that's bollocks. And deep down mate, you know it.
You honestly believe that decisions that big over Keano will be made NOW dependent on attitude between now and the end of the season? Absolutely laughable.

Juande, Gus and co have been busy planning for next season for a while now, and as such their targets have already been set, discussions have already been taking place and everyone wants everything tied up by the start of the Euros. Don't believe it? Ask your source!

Eto or Villa for Keane, plus us keeping Berbs... I could definitely live with that, but be sorry to see the lad go.

unless this means why are having an entire change of the front line i don't understand this, because why would you get rid of RK before you get sell bent?

I find it very hard to believe Keane would do anything like that. He didn't say anything when we brought Bent in for 16million, he stayed and fought for his place and proved that him and Berba are one of the deadliest strike forces in the Prem. I dont think he would start doing anything like that now, especially as Defoe has left so there's only 3 strikers, and if we were actively seeking another striker I dont see why Keano would have been told about it.

Keane's really isn't the type of player to whinge about being subbed, he'll be dissapionted as you often see on his face when he's brought off, but thats it. Just a few weeks ago he was saying he was staying here for the rest of his career.

You cant sell a player just because they're getting annoyed at not playing games. Especially one a professional as Keane.

i could actually see keane dropping back into the 3 part of a 4-2-3-1 i really dont see him leaving this window, these rumours crop up every season, he hasnt moved when he was on the bench a few years ago and he wont now

Presumably that was aimed at me, and presumably meaning you think I'm stupid for being happy with Keane going and Berba staying. Wouldn't you be?

Surely Modric would play where I assume you're saying Keane could in that formation.

I agree mate. Keane is creative, energetic and never gives up. He could do for us what Tevez does for United, pressurising the defence into making mistakes.

----Lennon-----Keane-----Modric----
------------------------------------
---------------Berba----------------

Playing like this with 2 strong midfielders behind them would give us plenty of options. Lennon, Keane and Modric can all swap positions through a game which would make the virtually unmarkable. In a similar way that Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo do for United.

No, he's not. You really can't even begin to compare Keane to Tevez.

As for that formation, it just looks like a bit of a mess to me.

And what with Jenas and Zokora behind, Jenas and new DM or two new CMs?

Think logically.

For which player is Eto'o a more likely replacement given his playing style? To my mind i would say Keane.

I asked a few days ago whether we would be able to cope with keeping one of these three on the bench? I doubt that we could keep all three happy so it is clear that one has to go.

Could Keane really play alongside Eto'o? I am not sure.

Therefore there may be merit in this rumour which should not be dismissed lightly. Even if "Keane is Spurs" it matters not when your coach is looking at the best interests of the club.
