There are two 4-5-1. The defensive style of most, especially Chelsea. But there are 4-5-1's based on a double pivot that becomes a 4-2-3-1, which is very attacking and can be seen with Arsenal and Bayern Munich. And United is close with Rooney playing close to a midfield role at times.

it's the newly preferred system for van basten after debate with holland's top players.

it's actually a more offensive version of 4-3-3 to accomodate as much attacking talent as possible.
