Not good to see the fears confirmed on Bale/Lennon. Looks like a few weeks of no pace in the team at all and where we are going to have to stumble through and get results any way we can.

As Gallas seems to have the most serious injury (time-wise), which I know some were questioning, maybe it will stop the 'what a **** he deserted his post' type posts.

One (maybe small in the scheme of things, but still) positive if Carroll is back in the squad, I think he has something to offer and I would hope he gets some serious game time.

Time for Dempsey and Gylfi to step up and do what they did for their teams last season.
Maybe overdoing the stay positive-thing here, but I think Bales injury will inspire others to take on a bigger responsibility, instead of waiting for Gareth to sort things out.

I agree with this. We have a strong squad, whilst it's a big blow to lose Lennon and Bale at the same time we have enough quality to keep us getting points.

Nothing there that we didn't already expect.

Need to somehow battle to 3 points on Sunday, give it a good crack on Thur and then see where we are for the City game 10 days later.

Sod's law that when we had the advantage of Pienaar and Microphone head not playing against us for the toffees, we have 2 of our most influential players sidelined.

Or we could look at it the exact opposite way and it seems quite fucking fortunate that we dont face a full strength Everton. As is the Chelsea progression in the FA Cup.

Its all coming together nicely. God must be a Yiddo!

OR...we lose the two players that might actually stop Baines and Coleman Bombing forward and creating chances for them, and/or exploit that fact, but instead wait for the inevitable goal from Jelavic or some other chancer that hasnt scored for 6 months.

Still got a feeling we will scrape a win as we have all season but you can bet your balls AVB would have wanted to stop those two. Hopefully walker can do that job while Lennon is out, although nothing this season has shown me he's capable in this form.

I'm not worried if we leave off Kaboul til next season really.
Nor am I gonna panic and throw the towel in.
Sure we're weakened but players are going to have to step up. They are all experienced Premier League standard players and need to knuckle down & grind out some result for us. Cometh the hour for a few.

Regards injuries, since Villas-Boas has been in charge, info has been vague to non existent at best. Cretit POTLfor pitching in but until Villas Boas is sitting in a press conference stating explicitly that Bale WILL play, i'm taking nothing for granted.

Fingers crossed

Well I saw him in some training photos recently, I think... :)
Yep, on the OS latest training pics. I think he has been training for several weeks now, but with the depth at CB we have no need to rush him back. I would love to see the lad back in the team this season though, but I can understand waiting until August after a proper pre season. Europa would have been a good opportunity to get him up to speed, but bit late and tight to throw in a rusty cb at this stage. Also seems risky in the league, would be nice to see him on the bench though.

Im just trying to cheer myself up and put a positive spin on the impending car crash that is our end of season run in.

You never know.

Good news, but if we rush them back I doubt they can perfom like we expect they do. But here is hope. Three points against Everton are more than important now. And hopefully Arsenal and Chelsea can't win their games *dreaming*
