From POTL

Both Bale and Lennon have been scanned this morning, along with Gallas.

Lennon badly bruised knee, difficult to tell from the scan as it is swollen but no break and looking like no ligament damage, monitored over the next few days- definitely out Sunday. Bale also scanned this morning, slightly positive as he has done ligament damage previously in the same part of the ankle- but also swollen and cant give a clear diagnosis as of yet. No break though. Both lads at Hotspur Way for treatment now. Gallas felt his muscle pop out and could be out for the rest of the season. All three out for Sunday. Coming back into the squad will be Tom Caroll who has recovered from his knock.
The Chelsea away game being postponed may just of given the lads a bit of extra time for recovery, however lengths of absence wont be known until a few more days have passed.

So a few more days yet but hopefully not too bad.

Pretty much what AVB said!

Thanks for the update (y)

Important to get one or both back for the run in against teams that will be sitting back against us (they're just as important as the games coming up in the next two weeks)

I don't why him doing similar ligament damage previously is positive news ?

I think its because it become more stretched, so less likely to snap or tear. Its also not good news as his ankle does get weaker.

Its because he's done the ligament before and it's healed ,the ankle ligament will be slightly more flexible than before and less likely to tear...if the same injury happened to a player who hadn't had that injury before....it would be much worse.

Gallas felt his muscle pop out?! I think I'm gonna be sick.
When I play I tend to tape mine to my leg....you still get that "commando" feeling without the risk of someone treading on your old boy.

Big blow about Lennon. Would have felt confident with Everton if he was fit

A shambles really, lets be honest. I was dreading one of Lennon or Bale facing a lengthy spell on the side lines (obviously more the latter) but for both, in the same game, facing weeks out - wholly fuck.

Its not looking good, in fact its looking terrible.

Apparently it means you cant tear it again, it's what AVB said last night.

Thank god POTL has confirmed this though, I didn't believe it all last night when we were told the same thing by AVB...

That would hurt a bit...

That period between Basel and Man City is massive for us. Hopefully Lennon at least will be back for City

If we can limp through Sunday and get 3 points then it will show the others that they can do it and hopefully spur them on

POTL has always been spot on with injury news. Can't remember him ever getting it wrong.

Time for Dempsey and Gylfi to step up and do what they did for their teams last season.
Maybe overdoing the stay positive-thing here, but I think Bales injury will inspire others to take on a bigger responsibility, instead of waiting for Gareth to sort things out.
