So with the scandal at City and my general annoyance at the correlation between spending money and success in football, I’ve come up with an ingenious way to make things better.

Step one wage cap.

Every country that competes in the champions league must impose a wage cap on their squad.
set the wage cap in line with the current highest spenders on wages (probably PSG or City) that way current contracts aren’t a problem.

step two, UEFA money pot.

All sponsorship and TV money goes through UEFA. Then that money is distributed evenly.
example. Pepsi and Coca Cola might bid to be the short sponsor for Real Madrid.

obviously this is impossible and the numbers likely wouldn’t add up but it’s the best I’ve got sooooooo…..?

Uefa, the same Uefa that last general secretary said this to Man City and Qatar in 2018:
Infantino allegedly describes drafting a possible settlement, saying: “You will see that I’ve sometimes chosen a wording which ‘looks’ more ‘strong,’” before signing off with the message “Let’s be positive!” Infantino was then Uefa’s general secretary

They're susceptible to bribes

Also UEFA have a lot of misplaced support, the problem with the super league was that it was a closed system

Otherwise everyone would have cheered it on 2 years ago

Ah ha!!!! You have taken the bait!!! The very reason that all the money would go through UEFA is so that they can dip their grubby hands in the pot.
This plan would only happen if those tykes could still get fat.
ultimately the money left over would be distributed evenly.

Thing is the FFP is a wage cap (in a way)... you can't pay more than you're earning from the club.

There is also a rule against artificially inflating your income through dodgy sponsors.

The problem is not with the rules, it's about the premier league doing something about it, hopefully within a lot less than 10 fucking years.

Everton and Leicester have been pretty fucked over the last year trying to stay within these financial restraints.

All we need is for the premier league to set an example with City and it'll put everyone else in line. Just make it clear they are not allowed to enter the premier league for five seasons. No PL = no Europe, sorted.

It'll be interesting to watch clubs like Chelsea and newcastle for the wage turnover and income. There's got to be swift repercussions.

However there is one massive elephant in the room and that's the European super league. Really interested to see what the league do and how quickly.

Yeah. The thing is, the owners of Chelsea and Man City and the money they have invested is probably the main reason that the premier league is the most watched league in the world.
I just can’t see the bosses of the PL jeopardising all that money they are making. So maybe there will be a token fine and deducted points, but nothing that will risk upsetting the investors.

I think the super league will likely require backing from the English clubs for it to be taken seriously, and the English clubs participation undermines the PL.

Ban Citeh from European competition and watch how quickly the super league gets formed, they’ll just drop a couple of hundred million on a dozen ‘select’ clubs and that’ll be it, I can image Real and Juve are sitting there with their fingers crossed.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I couldn't think of a more appropriate thread and it wasn't worth starting another one but I had no idea that Ron Noades, pre-Palace, had considered taking Wimbledon up to Milton Keynes, years and years before it happened:
