According to the Hull Daily Mail today www.thisishull.co.uk things are looking down literally for Hull City. The paper suggests that they will go into administration if /when they go down. Is this a trend that is going to befall most clubs that enter the bottom three near the end of a season?.
I think its time the FA looked at doing something to stop this rot because that is what it will be. Is it only because they cant afford to exist in the Premier league, when they are promoted from the Championship?. Once the euphoria of being promoted has gone the harsh reality bites.

hardly surprising given that a lot of these Chairman & CEO's are the same people who led (or supported those whose actions have led) to the economy being the way it is. I'm not sure that tighter regulations would rest too well with their capitalist/free market approach. Being financially irresponsible seems to be rooted deep into our culture. We buy with what we do not have (i.e. gamble) and when things go pear shaped, everyone starts raving and ranting...I can see more cases of this kind in the future.

They haven't really splashed the cash on transfer fees but I think the ridiculous EPL wages are why they are struggling. And unlike Wigan who made a lot of money out of players like Palacios and Valencia Hull just don't have many assets.

The problem for hull will be that mentioned earlier they haven't really got any players of any value. There biggest player is bullard and even though he is good player his injury record will prevent them getting any major money for him. Saying that they have a very highly rated youngster there tom carney who scored really good goal against everton earlier this season. He might be worth going after if they go down.

How old is Bullard anyway? Pretty sure he's close to 30 so his value won't be to high with knee injuries in mind also. I spect he's on a shed load of money to.

I had a funny dream last night that Hull City beat Chelsea to win the FA Cup Final. On reflection it was possibly this thread title that triggered the dream.

I think there's a rule that even if a club goes into administration when it knows it's relegated, the league can still apply the deduction to the following season (might've happened to Southampton??).
Obviously there may be an issue with this as they're going between leagues! Not sure if the FL will act independently from the FAPL.
