His record in the UEFA has been excellent. DC- what a penalty, I was behind the goal. The best thing was the coolness with which he dispatched it and the look on his face when he whacked it back in. Whatever he does this summer- minus going to Arse- you cannot deny his love for the club and how, in his own way, he gave his all when it mattered.

great stuff CB :) wish i'd have been there - I'd seen all our lge cup finals back to 71 - but couldn't get an affordable tkt for this one - so glad for all our fans tho that were there - what a day it must have been

it was simply fanttastic in my living room

that's how I hope people will remember Berbs - someone who helped give us a day of glory - they don't happen too often for fans outside the 'big 4'

I think he's had a better season than last, but people get annoyed with him because sometimes he could be even better than he is. He's so frustrating!!!

All geniuses are inconsistent and wayward at times. Georgie Best was a good example.

I was speaking to some of my mates who arent spurs fans and the seem to think berbs has had a bad season but 23 goals and i think 15 assists doesnt sound bad to me what do you think.

They're probably Sun readers.

Around the same as last season. Maybe even a bit better.
Better as he has roughly the same amount of goals and assists even in a season where the team as a whole has been much worse.

he scored in the final you idiot
True. True. When Keane started to look a bit shaky (after a long run of perfect penalties) Berbatov was there to start stroking them home. He was mega cool in the cup final taking that penalty with huge expectation on his shoulders. How many times have "top class" English internationals failed in similar circumstances, too many. He's class and will continue to improve. £11 million, what a bargain. Worth a least £25 million now. Ronaldo can be amazing but look how he has failed to show world class stuff in the big games recently. Berbatov is made of better stuff.

Well said Seanson, I couldn't help thinking the same as I saw the pressure etched on Ronaldo's face tonight, and just knew he would fail to convert.

If we didn't have Berba to take the crucial Pen in the Cup Final, we'd probably have never got back in the game, even though we deserved to be ahead.

He started taking the Pens in the Anderlecht away game iirc after Keano missed the one against L'Arse, and Defoe had missed one against Wet Spam.

We haven't looked back on the Pens since.....if only he could've taken that final one v PSV aswell as the first......

Mind you he always goes left. I was watching a youtube friendly clip v Steveage season 06-07 and he scored the Pen in exactly the same way back then.

Incidentally, the official site (if up to date) has him down as 97 appearances with 45 goals (his best tally being 16 appearances in Europe with 12 goals). With 3 games left, if the club know he is leaving, I hope he's allowed to make his century, and have a fond farewell with the supporters saying thanks and goodbye so he'll remember us with affection.
Call me a sentimental old fool, I don't care.

In our eyes he has performed at the same level as before.

In the eyes of non-spurs fans he must have been sensational. He's proven to others that he's not a one-season wonder, that he isn't getting found out by defenders. He is sheer class and so the big clubs drool over him.

I fear for our immediate future without Berba.

I disagree, Ronaldo does produce in big games.

I seem to remember him scoring 2 in their CC win a couple of years ago & he's the top scorer in the CL this season.

Having read all the posts i'm still not convinced he has had as good as or better season that last year. The easiest comparison is Goals and Assist stats. BUT looking closer at that you'll see he's played more games than he did last year so his ratio is lower... and he had no penalties last season, so his goals from open play is lower.

I think he's had a good season and we should rightly defend him against stupid people saying he was poor but in lots and lots of ways he was better last season.

i miss his spectacular goals last season. not sure why he hasn't banged such this year.

overall slightly better. can do much more with a decent midfield though.

I think he's been better. When the rest of the team disappeared, he's still be creating and scoring all season. Shoulld be player of the season.
