They lost 1-0. I do think Italian game suits him quite well. They’re a poor side but they got him on the ball quite a bit and he did ok. Could see him staying in Serie A on another loan next year.

Would like to see him with decent players in Italy. Agree that it would not be a surprise if another italian loan was arranged as he's doing well in a shit team.

Seems to be loving life in Italy.

@robhumphreys, he will only have 1 year left on his contract after this season so while he could go to Italy permanently he’s not likely to go on any further loans.

Over the years seen many saying how much more suited Winks' game is to the Spanish/Italian leagues than the PL.

Certainly looks to be true.

Really pleased for him. Gets some unfair criticism. Been unlucky with injuries, and deserves to play regularly somewhere. Definitely didn't progress like we hoped, but also think that was due to injuries in a large part.

I watched this one and he was good again. He's also starting to be more trusted by his team mates and they're learning not to rush possession.

The current Samp team are awful but it's a lovely club and it's been a very good experience for Harry.

Was actually quite odd watching that compilation video as I'd completely forgotten what he's capable of when he's playing with confidence. Maybe my memory isn't doing him justice but in my mind he usually kept it very sideways and simple and those long balls and forward passes between the lines were a rarity. Certainly in the later years anyway.

I suppose his major shortcoming has always been how weak he is off the ball but it's nice to be reminded how good he's capable of being on it.

Glad he's playing well and seemingly free from ankle trouble. He's good on the ball. But honestly I think a move was best for everyone. I don't think he was moving forward with us. Good on him for having the courage to get back to fitness and playing abroad at a high level.

He couldn't handle the pace of the prem. He's hardly getting pressured in that cut up. Also he was possibly the worst midfielder defensively I've seen at Spurs.

Did he not famously rat to the press about Mourinho and whine constantly about not playing enough under him? I doubt that one has legs!
That was what was reported or at the very least strongly hinted at. Don't think the media ever came out with his name but certain ITK's were very clear about who was behind those leaks.

And certain ITKs refuted it. It's almost certainly rubbish.

Winks is the opposite of a Mourinho player but I think he's probably learned from him as a coach. He's much more direct than he used to be. I still don't think he's direct or physical enough to prosper in one of Jose's teams.

Hope he gets a permanent move off the back of his time in Italy. I was a big supporter of his but I've seen him down tools in matches and put in half arsed performances too often to want to see him back in a Spurs shirt.

Happy for him, and he's really putting together some good "tape" for future suitors. I don't think it'll be difficult to get something for him in the summer.
