Good luck lad. Sorry for the fucking absurd abuse you took.

To be fair, the abuse was online and how much of that he sees who knows. Assume limited to social media that is full of cretins anyway.
Never heard much more than groans when he played.
Good luck to him, takes guts to move abroad and take on a different league and lifestyle

Good luck to him. I genuinely hope it works out for him there. He needs a fresh start to kickstart his career, which was going to essentially end at Spurs with another couple of years out of the squad.

Any more info on why?

From the outside looking in, it looks to me that between the club and his agent, they've failed him.

It looks to me a pretty poor move. I may well be proved wrong. I'm amazed we haven't sold him outright and I really would have thought a fair few PL clubs would have been interested.
Earning a good few million a year, playing football in one of the most beautiful cities in the world whilst getting the chance as a young man to experience a new country and culture. I wish my agent failed me like that!

I think it’s a great move for him from a footballing perspective, think he’ll do really well out there.
I guess it must be hard though if you’ve lived in or around Hemel for so long as I bet that’s what his biggest doubt was/is.

Oh for sure good on him. He's taking a chance.

I'm not sure it was the move he was waiting for though.

Why? Genuine question, but if your answer is going to be "because he's one of our own" or anything remotely similar, I'd rather you just didn't answer.

Playing away to Juventus, the Milan clubs and Roma sounds super exciting to me as well. If I was a footballer of that level I’d definitely be trying to play in different leagues. I’m surprised more don’t fancy the idea of playing in Italy, Germany or Spain rather than just bouncing between the likes of Watford or Sheffield United. Money I suppose but looking back on that type of career is surely more exciting a story if included multiple years in different foreign leagues.

Because for one its not a permanent move. I guess he's maybe content with that but if I was him I'd want more certainty. Could well be in the same boat in 12 months time.

He's obviously taken his time to see if anything else is gonna crop up. He's not jumped to Sampdoria"s call as its pretty late in the window. Not the best prep for a season in a new league.

I guess if the move is financially beneficial for the club then he has played a blinder.

I never really bonded with Winks like some of the other academy players. Not sure why, but wish him all the best.

From a life experience perspective I hope he enjoys it out there. Definitely a good chance to knuckle down and away from the English pressures.

He is a talented lad and needs to rediscover his early form.

Pretty certain Trix has already covered the fact multiple teams wanted him but Winks himself has turned them down, most likely as he see's them beneath his ability.

Fact is if he really wanted to get back into any sort of form whether its a slight step down club wise he should have taken the challenge and proven himself.

Reports are saying that we will be paying a fair chunk of his wages, and there’s no option or obligation. That’s disappointing, if true.

Although if you have lived there (as my sister does) you might be desperate to leave lol

Foreign clubs are taking the piss out of Premier League clubs. However we gave the players the contracts.
