Sorry he is a Spurs fan growing up dreaming to play for his boyhood club. Keep that and move on to another club for the best of his memories and ours too.

Was terrible once again. I just do not know how he stayed on and Ndombele was taken off

He is doing well to play at the top level and earn so much because he is an average player. Well done Harry lol

Narrative already written about him. So it's obvious pointless saying anything contrary. But winks had a good game and it was a step in the right direction.

Oh please. Please. That was another tepid performance from a tepid player, playing next to a player in Hojbjerg who outshone him as always, by a country mile in desire, leadership, ability and a pair of balls.

A lot of our fans tend to be too sensitive or emotional about mediocre players and then wonder why we get mediocre results.

I remember one of my mates having an obsession with Chadli and Pavlyuchenko before him, he wouldn't have replaced them with any other player in the world. It's been the same for others with just about every average player that has put a Spurs shirt on. Sometimes players just aren't good enough no matter how much you like them personally. We will never win anything with Winks regularly playing in midfield.

I have no axe to grind against Winks, but he was very far from being ‘good’ tonight.

I don't what the fuck you're on about but you are so biased. Hojbjerg was just as average only difference was he was a loose with his passing.

I'm not surprised once this site has it out for player they can't do anything right.

Nobody talking about his throughball for reguillion, his good defensive work. Winning the ball on the edge of the box, making a couple nice interceptions on pullback ect. Plus plenty of progressive passes through the lines to kane in the whole who weren't able to do anything tonight.

I agree longterm he shouldn't be our starting #8 just don't scapegoat him when he's not the reason why we didn't win tonight.

Im not saying Hojbjerg was perfect, but you said it yourself, Winks was ‘just as average’.

But I think he is a big part of why we didn’t win. He’s horrid in defense and creates nothing offensively to make up for it. He panics under pressure, constantly gives the ball back to our defenders who then get pressed and hoof the ball up field leading to turnovers. He’s bad.

He wasn't good & he faded out of the game in the 2nd half. The truth is a good few of our players weren't good on the ball, so pointing the finger at him is a bit unfair. He hasn't played very often & there were others who have played more who were just as bad.

He definitely wasn't the reason we drew. I also love the kid, he's clearly a lovely lad and a die hard fan. Also, I don't want him sold.

However, he's not starting XI quality. He doesn't have the defensive awareness to be a DM. He's not a tough, ball winning midfielder. Isn't a goal scorer. Isn't really box to box. More edge of our own area to half way line.

So when you don't have all the above, you have to be a Pirlo/Modric on the ball. He certainly isn't that. This notion that he passes the ball quickly is bullshit. Passing it quickly, sideways, to Ben Davies just to get rid of the responsibility, isn't a good passer of the ball. He will play the odd ball forward, but he's no Xavi is he?

Squad player. If he wants more and will kick up a fuss, let him go.

Lots of this is untrue. In the past sure he was too conservative in possession. Not tonight, he always was trying to break lines.

He made lots of good interceptions tonight but in general he is too easily played around. But did it leave us especially exposed. I don't think so.

Our tactics hurt us more, when we let teams come on to us all the time.
