He would've known his wife's due date a fair way back though, long before he made that initial briefing anyway. If he's having second thoughts now it's all cold feet and to be honest I'd actually be a bit pissed at him. We no doubt have been operating under the pretence that he could go and would've had to have planned accordingly for it. There's no way it hasn't had some impact on both our recruitment and on Ange's preparations, so for him to turn around and say no now would be annoying to say the least.

Kane put a date of Sunday on all this being done, as after that it's too late (I would guess for the pregnancy). We are only a couple of days before that so might just be realizing all the effect needed in moving with everything else on top.

But agree with being pissed off at him, if it's up to him now he needs to stop fucking about and just decide to get it over with.

I’ve been preparing my son (and myself) for his leaving for weeks. After this morning I said he might stay and now this!

You bar stewards…🤬

I find it a bit ironic that we now have ex-players in the media coming out to say Kane shouldn't move to Bayern because winning trophies won't mean much there. Yet they are all part of the same group of journalists and ex-players that have been trying to put pressure on Spurs to sell Kane because 'he is never going to win anything there'. Clearly, what they all actually meant was that he should move to City, Utd or Liverpool depending on which ever club they were attached to. Now he might not go to any of their clubs and they are all miffed.

The arrogance of these guys has to be seen to be believed.

Anyone who has kids will know pregnant women often say one thing and mean the complete opposite when push comes to shove. This now is a case of waiting to see what he decides. The bullshit flying around right now is off the charts so there is no point in updating anything until it's certain.

Wait, only pregnant women often say one thing and mean completely the opposite? Sounds like my wife when not pregnant also!

One more year will be worth it because we'll have one more year watching a brilliant goal scorer - a phenomenon - playing for us. That's the point. You don't have to game it out beyond that any option where he leaves now leaves us worse off
..... in the short term.

Tell me you have never had a pregnant wife, without saying you've never had a pregnant wife 🤣

I think the enormity of the decision is sinking in with Harry and his family.

Not saying this wasn't discussed at length previously - of course it was - but all said and done, he may not have ever believed it would actually come to pass and coupled with an impending birth, this really is a sliding doors moment.
It will have seemed a bit of a no-brainer at the end of the season. He'd have felt that we were no closer to winning a trophy, but also he wasn't enjoying the football. We were managerless and directionless. Of course Bayern was a clearly sensible move. There was such a gulf between what he was getting here, and what he was being offered there.

Since then that gap must have closed. We've a manager he admires, playing a brand of football that is progressive and attacking, with young exciting players joining. That's not to say that his prospects with us now outweigh those at Bayern, but he now has a real decision to make where he's going to lose something whichever way he turns. It's just a question of what he considers the most important.

if the ball is completely in Harry's court he surely needs to make a decision today for everyone's benefit?

Especially for us here on SC

When one parent can afford not to work, and if you needed you can afford to build yourself a full blown nursery and pay for the staff, and buy all the staff a ferrari each for being nice, the support thing becomes less of an issue...
Not necessarily true though. It depends how much you’re happy to farm out to non-relatives. If your family live close and help with the kids that is hard to give up.

Definitely BS but it would be extremely believable as Levy only cares about money.

Or just pissed off spending so much time speaking to BM and making alternative signing plans because he was told HK was 100% keen on joining.

but yes, the money is probably more believable.

Would be outrageous to go through all this, holding the entire summer hostage to then decide he doesn't want to go.

Speaking as someone who has emigrated, 3 years younger than Harry when I did it... it's not an easy thing to do... it's literally leaving everything behind, including parents, grandparents of the kids, etc. That's an emotional crippler with aging grand parents and the thought of robbing them of those years with young grandchildren. We tend to forget all this stuff, because it's football, or the money is so huge, etc... but I would imagine they've had this conversation a thousand times this summer and probably had a different outcome half the time. That's what it was like for me.

But he will potentially have similar issues if he moves to Manchester. Ok, it's only a few hours drive, but Munich is only a few hours away too. Not to mention he can afford to bring family with him and give them all jobs.

Can anyone show me an example where a big transfer has been agreed but “awaiting the players decision” is Kane in two minds?

If I was Kane I'd be thinking

I pushed to get rid of Pochettino
I welcomed Mourinho with open arms
Then I welcomed Conte with open arms
Now I'm considering binning Postecoglou to go and work for a wanker like Tuchel.

I don't think we will be convincing him to leave at all.
We've accepted a fee, so that means we want to sell him at that price no?

If we wanted to keep him then we would just reject the offer? I imagine the club are now terrified of him leaving on a free next year.
I'm not saying its right that we'd try and convince him to leave, but just that that's probably the case imo.
