IF, IF!! This is the end, I really do hope we’ve got quality replacements ready to hit the button and come in swiftly, and half of the money isn’t already gone on VDV & veliz.

shite it’s happened 48 hrs before start of season though!

My educated guess with that's happened.

Bayern made an "acceptable" bid last week (as our ITKs said).
Levy got to work on replacements, with an agreement that Bayern kept quiet and leaving the decision with Kane.
Kane's a lot less sure than he was given how long it took Bayern to commit, his wife's imminent pregnancy, the reception he got after scoring 4, etc.
Knowing what Kane's said about a deadline before the season starts, Bayern are starting to leak to the press that an offer's been accepted to put the pressure on.

I reckon it could go either way still.

this makes sense. My only question is that with the amount of money at stake, if an agreement was close, would they really have risked him for 70 odd minutes in a friendly?

If he doesn’t move, it will be because he knows in 12 months he can go to city/United/Madrid etc. It wont be because he feels he can’t leave spurs. Imo.

Of all the Levy fuck ups, and there are many, this is by far the worse. He will always be remembered as the man who sold our gratest ever player and got us nowhere. What a legacy, you bald ****

I have had a season ticket for the past 20 years and started watching Spurs in 88/89 when I went to my first match. I've watched almost every home game for 20 years, every final, semi final etc. I remember all of it vividly.

I suspect your journey has been a bit shorter.
Well then you can’t have been paying attention.

Daniel Levy literally said in an interview that ENIC bought Tottenham because of how lucrative it will be.

He also has shown on I don’t know how many occasions that he only makes decisions when he is under so much pressure it’s unavoidable.

Sometimes when something is right in front of your face, you can’t see it, I suppose?

I'm very much resigned to him going but if Harry goes and rejects Bayern after such a drawn out saga then the fallout will be legendary.

C'mon Harry. Do the funniest transfer rejection of all time.

Not if they are plain stupid opinions!

I think most people just have different opinions about this situation. But even assuming there are people with stupid opinions about it, why get angry about them? It's not like these people are running the club, making decisions. I just think it's way for people to take out their anger about their situation on other people.

Interesting that despite Harry supposedly being desperate to join them that now a few has been agreed the talk isn't medical or Kane leaves training but he now has to decide.

I think this isnt certain and Harry has the chance to make Bayern Munich look very stupid

Sad thing is Levy has let the fans and the new manager down again. Poor Ange will be made scapegoat and be sacked. Yet Levy will still have his fan club so no pressure on him.

Either way this needs to be finalised by the end of the day. Absolutely ridiculous that they've let it get this far. Just another way to derail our season early on.

Yeah. There's a lot of anger in this thread. People have different opinions about what is right and best for the club; people being angry about other fans' opinions is weird.
I think being angry at all is a bit strange. Until there's an official announcement that is.

Monday, news that he's off, lynchmob formed, tar and feather procured and a reinfoced aubergine shaped dildo taken out of it's velvet bag
Tuesday, news he's staying, party streamers are let off, cake and congas
Wednesday, news he's off again, anger management failures abound, people run around headbutting walls and fisticuffs aplenty
Thursday, oh no, guess what, he's staying again..........

I'm surprised people have still got the energy for it.

It's a sad day for sure, but selling for a price we wanted I don't think can be criticized even with that timing. The reality is we can't say no to £100m or more for one year of a player, even if its Harry.

Maybe City, Chelsea and PSG can, as their only barrier would be FFP, and that can be circumvented all the time apparently.

I'll be happy if he stays another year, and I'll be hopeful if the money comes in. Unfortunately our last 4 years have put us in this situation, but I think I'd rather see him at Bayern than see him playing for another English team next year and for free. Personally I find the bet on his legacy questionable, as the only way he can surpass his legacy as the PL's all-time leading scorer is if Bayern win the UCL.

Having said all that, I'm already looking forward to the 5 year renewal announcement in the next few minutes, haha. What a rollercoaster this start to the day has been.

Wish we got our replacement before we sell Kane. Now clubs know we have 120m to burn, and can up the price! This has not gone the same way the Bale saga went, and actually hurts more.

Selling our best ever player 2 days before the season, as a consequence of 4 years of incompetence and penny pinching rebuilds is peak Levy.

Nothing has changed since Berbatov etc.

All those windows hanging onto deadwood for an extra few million that never arrives, all the hiring managers and foisting spreadsheet club signings that don't fit, his siding with disgruntles "assets" in the canteen against managers...

His failed and intransigent leadership has lead us to this point.

I get the pragmatic arguments for selling Kane now, but that we have reached this position is inexcusable from Levy.
I relate to the emotions you're having but a lot has changed since Berba and that is hyperbolic crap. We've had a bad run after the CL final and we seem to be addressing the things that need changing at the moment. Clubs don't just stay on the up forever, there are cycles and we didn't cycle as well as we could have.

Kane wanted to go 2 years ago so it's not just a consequence of that, we would have need something extremely special (ie mass spending like City and now the goons) to keep us at the level we reached under Poch through COVID and beyond. The biggest mistake for me was nothing to do with money and everything to do with chasing trophies for Kane rather than rebuilding when needed.
