Is it better, perhaps, to start the season with a player who will be discussed in transfer terms for every single week of the whole entire season instead?

Um - i'd say it's better to have a season with the best player in the league playing for you and not agreeing to let him go 3 days before our opening game.

Happiest fella in England today... Alan Shearer.

I've no idea what Harry is thinking leaving Premier League. Just a very strange move.

One think that has changed, for the first time, Harry knows Tottenham want the money more than him.
Previously we we saying No to all offers, putting different contracts offers on Charlie’s desk, Captaining at home for nearly the full game.
Wonder how that news went down at
the training ground this morning also?
If he really wanted to help the club he would have done what Eriksen did before leaving Ajax by offering to sign a contract extension to ensure they’d get a fee. The fact is, Kane hasn’t signed a new contract and won’t. What are the club to do? I’m not a big Levy supporter but he’s probably doing what is best for the club here.

People solely blaming Levy are missing the fact Ange has categorically stated he only wants players fully invested in his way of playing and in the team. Kane is world class and the ultimate professional so there was no issue with that for this season but if Kane has said he’s very unlikely to sign a new deal than it’s perfectly plausible he too has opted to say sell him to Levy and give me the funds to rebuild the squad as the lesser of two evils

Bloke hasn't even left yet and already the Levy linchmob is in full swing. As it has been said....many times....the number was always acceptable, it was how it was going to be paid that wasn't, and now it is! But until its confirmed, chill the fack out!!
The issue is Levy doesn’t have to sell at all. He’s agreed to a transfer of our best player 2 days before the new season. All this posturing we could have sold a month ago. Tell Bayern what we want and without that he is going nowhere. Yet we’ve played the okie cokie played all our preseason games with Kane at top and then finally got Bayern to offer us what we want atrocious football management at the top.

My educated guess with that's happened.

Bayern made an "acceptable" bid last week (as our ITKs said).
Levy got to work on replacements, with an agreement that Bayern kept quiet and leaving the decision with Kane.
Kane's a lot less sure than he was given how long it took Bayern to commit, his wife's imminent pregnancy, the reception he got after scoring 4, etc.
Knowing what Kane's said about a deadline before the season starts, Bayern are starting to leak to the press that an offer's been accepted to put the pressure on.

I reckon it could go either way still.
This makes loads of sense based on all that's been said by ITK and reputable journalists over the last week.

I agree with this but if it was the case, it should have been done in July

You genuinely think Levy didn't do this?

Are the squad numbers done tomorrow for current playing staff? Maddison will be waiting to get that number 10 shirt I'm sure.

Also we really need it confirmed before the first game so we can confirm the captain. Just get on with it and win Sunday with or without Kane.

Kane clearly wanted to leave a couple of years ago. He probably feels like he has served his time. I'm not surprised at all that he wouldn't want to sign an extension now.
