The problem with Harry going is does anybody trust Levy to listen to the manager and bring in who he wants.
I think we are in trouble this season anyway as at the minute he has set another manager up to fail by not sorting the defence out straight away.
Big Ange is a really good manager and having watched Celtic over the past 2 seasons under him his brand of football is great to watch but he never ever changes his style no matter who his team is playing. So if we don't get the defence sorted very quickly then it won't matter who is playing up front.

With our best player going not giving time to allow a defence to get together during pre season is going to cost us points early in the season and if the right decisions aren't made in regards to reinforcements then Ange could be out of a job before Christmas having never been given a fair chance to accomplish anything at the club.

At present I don't think we have enough to compete in the top ten never mind win anything or get into the top 4. How the players will react to him going will be a big thing, will they step up to prove that we aren't a one man team or will it give them an excuse for more failure.

I just hope we can avoid doing what's happened to Everton over the past few years I don't think some of our players would have the balls for a relegation fight.

I really hope that Big Ange is given a chance to succeed and prove how good he is and make it so as when my beloved Tottenham Hotspur are playing that we can all enjoy watching them again. Football is supposed to be enjoyable to watch and having been a supporter of the club for over 47 years I would love to have some enjoyment through football again as through illness I have been left mostly house bound for a while.

Bit silly all of the media drama over cancelling the Friday meeting and moving it to Monday so that DL can play billy-big-balls, only to agree to the deal on a Sunday night, if that's what's panned out.
Who says any deal has been agreed? Can’t see any info or itk anywhere?

It is too late to put a deadline in place. The season starts in less than two weeks and we have missed the majority of pre season as far as bedding in replacements and players bought with the money. May as well let it play out through negotiation now.

If it's me I'm telling Bayern, Kane and his reps, if you want this to happen it has to be done by such and such date because Tottenham Hotspur have to be fully prepared for the season with or without Kane. Everyone knows where they stand and we can actually put our ducks in a row.
But as you said they like to wing it. Maybe Levy’s an adrenaline junkie.

You'd hope we'd get the deals for the new players in place before we go public with the detail of the Kane money. Just being optimistic there will be some deals.
If we start buying players now after nearly 2 weeks of inaction, amid the Kane rumours, then any selling club will presume we have the money from his sale and act accordingly. Our lack of decisiveness early in the window both over Kane’s status and securing CBs will probably cost us more money.

My hope is that we have deals in place, put them into action as we're signing on the line with Bayern, and do it early all early this week so that by the weekend - Ange can field a side, build some confidence and try to put this all past us going into the first match of the season.

Really hope we target a young ST/WF (even later in the window) to challenge Richarlison. I'm rooting for Richy, but if he picks up injuries like he did I'm rather we be ready. Much like our dreaded neighbors are grabbing multiple players of strength per position, we should be doing the same.

So… Herc says ‘bye bye’, and is everyone assuming that to mean Harry is Bayern bound? Done and dusted? That’s an impressive call. First one to confirm it.

Knew it was drifting in that direction, but had no idea it was pretty much signed, sealed, delivered.

Cheers, Herc for being willing to share that before anyone else has. At least now we know for sure.

Very bummed. But this too shall pass. And hopefully there will be brighter days ahead.

Good luck, Harry. It’s been a pleasure! 😊

We once started a season with new signing Roman, DB and Fraser Campbell. The famous 8 games without a win season.
Yh the parallels forming with that season are beginning to get scary. Sold our top scorer, relying on the club record signing from the season before, no defensive re-enforcements, confident english attacking midfielder who should be a shoe in for success signed...
Fans often reference the Ramos season as a cautionary tale of how not to do things yet the Kane saga this summer is feeling all too familiar.

People do realise how much money we missed out on this year but dropping out of CL right? If we let Kane go on a free next year but he’s the difference between CL or not then that’s far better than getting £80m for him now. There’s a risk both ways but it’s not a clear cut financial decision.

mid table mediocrity again then?
Yep but it's ok not Levy's fault...... we had to sell blah blah. It's not Levy fault he fucked about and didn't dign CBs or strikers with the money from the Kane sale before it's announced.
The Levy protectors will be out in force when it gets announced.
Sick and tired of the clowns destroying our once great club!

Finishing top 4 this season?

Not a chance. Got Tanganga starting a week Sunday.

I look at next 4 seasons and not just next season.

So we keep him, he walks on free to another PL club - then he potentially hinders us for CL and trophies for another 4 seasons…

He gets us in CL next season and we’re able to shop at the big boy table. He leaves now and no one wants to join a team not in Europe.

The real question is have Bayern stumped up the necessary readies or have we capitulated on the fee?

Either way, it would appear we are close to a resolution to this saga.
it'd better be much more than £75m!

Since the City stuff, so many of us have been saying Levy's gotta show ambition, buy in quality, to show H we mean it- otherwise it's over. The apologists came up with the usual pathetic, defeatist mix of wait and see, and he deserves to win trophies so why stand in his way.

As someone who wanted to live and work in other cultures and to double my money, albeit in a completely different field, I understand the lure- but I won't be swayed from my belief that if we'd invested and stayed competitive he would have
re-signed.

We'll, Levy didn't and it's come to pass.

The whole fanbase now knows Levy's game.

Christ, Kane might actually think of staying had we pulled our finger out this window.

I mean look at the players we still got to shift.

Not one defender in two weeks before the season starts.

And where the fuck is the DoF that everyone appears to have forgotten about...

We should ask how Chelsea sign players then ? We can buy players if we are ready to spend…

Decision on Kane isn’t easy either way. I just prefer a clean break so everyone knows where they stand instead of dragging the saga for 3rd year. It’s going to be tough on Ange but IMO clean break now means Ange gets a clean slate to start and build on next season

If he does leave then I wish him all the best. The Club tried to be ambitious on the managerial front but fell short when it come to signing the players we needed at the time to take us to the next level. Thanks for everything Harry.

Winning a load of trophies over several decades is how Chelsea, Arsenal and Man U managed to still attract players.
