The club will be here long after any player! Yes it’s frustrating Kane looks like leaving but if I’m honest I still think we can score enough goals without him to have a good season!

the issue is if they don’t get atleast 1 (Hopefully 2) good pacey CB’s in they could get torn to shreds! It’s imperative to Ange’s system that they invest in CB’s and they’ve identified two very good options, now they need to actually buy them!

"As part of the deal that takes Harry to Germany, we're delighted to announce a special relationship with Bayern Munich."

"... and Donna has just cracked open a vintage bottle of Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese, which has been aging in the secret Tottenham Hotspur Stadium cheese room cellar. Cheers all! (*delete that last bit)."

I absolutely love and adore him for everything he has done for Spurs.

Possibly in a minority, If he leaves, I don’t want him to win a thing with any other club. The legacy he could have had will be completely tarnished.

I know that ultimately that Levy and co have failed him and us which contradicts the above.

I’m Gutted :(

and therein lies the issue, had levy actually been ambitious and signed quality players to help us make the next step, he’d probably of seen out his career - and taken the overall top pl scorer, he clearly sees a lack of ambition AGAIN this summer and now feels it’s time to love on, and who can blame him?

You'd hope we'd get the deals for the new players in place before we go public with the detail of the Kane money. Just being optimistic there will be some deals.

Bit silly all of the media drama over cancelling the Friday meeting and moving it to Monday so that DL can play billy-big-balls, only to agree to the deal on a Sunday night, if that's what's panned out.

Very hard to balance the Kane equation with the contract situation dictating that he's going to go this summer or next. To be honest I really thought 2021 was the year he was off and after the last great false dawn of 2022 it was easy to daydream that he was going to stay but the 22/23 shambles is almost certainly a rebuild too far. Pragmatically, Bayern are as good as anyone. Would be horrible if he stayed in England. Will probably come back for someone else but that's the business of the game.

I worry that we're returning to the times where there was a general sense that under Levy's stewardship there was always a deal to be done for our best players. The Bale scenario was so ludicrously stage managed by all parties (club, player, agent) that it's downright insulting to remember Levy and the club trying to assert that Bale would have not been 'sufficiently committed to our campaign in the current season' . The club always expected to sell and was working to explore the sale from March 2013 before it went through on September 1st. I expect it'll be the same spin when Kane goes but we'll always know that there was another season on the table with that contract. Again, I wonder how much of this was a known conclusion after Conte went.

It's hard to imagine Spurs managing to hold on to a player like Liverpool did with Gerrard when Chelsea came knocking. Levy doesn't seem to have the same power, probably as a result of us never winning anything. There was a sense that he'd learnt something from Berbatov, Modric, Bale but possibily we went a bit too far the other way and didn't move a few players on at the right time - the trio of Dier, Rose, Alli might have been sold at the end of 17/18 enabling a rebuild of the squad. But we shouldn't be losing the one generational talent without us all have enjoyed winning a cup or league along the way.

Players and owners and even chairmen come and go, but the fans are the one static element. We suffer and it would be great to win one as a fanbase for once but apparently we don't get that. It's going to be a long few years I think. Really hoping for a miracle change of ownership or similar. Not expecting it.

You never know really.

I mean, Arsenal's Rice transfer dragged on to the point West Ham claimed lawyers were being overly anal and eventually announced it themselves...

Just have to hope the weird silence recently is down to deals being quietly stitched together. 🤞🙏

Our lowest finish in years and now it looks like we are selling our best player. If we start the season badly, Mr Levy might be in for an uncomfortable visit to our fantastic entertainment arena.

As heartbreaking as this is, if transpires we should really try to get on board the Richarlison train as soon as possible.

Raphinha has been linked with a move away from Barcelona. A good friend of Richy’s from the national team. This could be the springboard to get the best out of both of these 2 players. Our squad - ie the players who we are most likely to want to keep - is currently pretty left foot light at the moment.

Raphinha or Mitoma, plus Tapsoba & van der Ven and we can start to move forwards.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but it does seem a little weird Englands national team captain going to Germany biggest team, Englands biggest rivals.

Not really that weird when you think of the amount players that don't play in their home country.
England and Germany rivalry - who gives shit!

I’m not trying to knock richarlison here but imagine selling Kane and going into the season with a striker that scored 1 pl goal last season and a young back up. I understand that’s simplified but it’s laughable
We once started a season with new signing Roman, DB and Fraser Campbell. The famous 8 games without a win season.

He was either going this summer or next, so we’ve avoided him going to an English club for free. We’ve also probably avoided watching him ever score against us. Glad it’s a team that I never pay any interest in so it’ll be fairly easy to move on.

We’ll be okay if he leaves. It will hurt when it happens, but he’s given everything for the club. We wouldn’t even be in this position if the club acted more ambitiously when we had a better squad.

Reality is Ange’s system limits him a bit and he’s an awkward fit for the system. Not to say we’ll be better off without him, nor that the system/Kane can’t adapt to work better, and he’s 3x the player Richarlison is, but Richy fits the system like a glove. Either him or a different striker who is young, energetic, plays off-the-shoulder, and is a penalty area predator is more than fine. Add some top CB’s (shouldn’t take Kane leaving for it to happen but we all know this) and trim the squad and I genuinely think we’ll be great under Ange. Might take some time and be some growing pains, but the technical quality and squad makeup is there.

And honestly, I can’t be bothered by more time and energy being spent on the will he won’t he narrative. It’s so tiring all these stories and interview questions etc. I’m sure Ange more than anyone wants it dealt with asap. Help him out and back him with the funds. Give him all the time in the world to build his way.

Then you don't sell him. This isn't difficult.

The point was not that you have to sell or keep - the point is, the decision should have been made a month ago. Then the club have clarity on what needs to be done to bring in defenders or anyone else they need.
But that smacks of decisiveness, something we have had in short supply, for quite some time, when it comes transfers.
