£200m!!!!!!!

Unless Kane puts in a transfer request I don't see any way he goes to Utd this summer. I think Levy will know as much as everyone that Kane was the main reason this season wasn't more embarrassing. Without him we could realistically become a mid table side next season. Relying on Richy to be our new No 9 is a big risk but then again the money he might be able to get from RM would certainly ease his departure. I guess it comes down to how much Kane wants to stay for the record.

That’s what their budget is. Not our asking price.
The article does say "It is still expected the Spurs chairman would want as much as £200m, which would almost certainly exceed Madrid's budget." Not saying it's believable or true, but it is in the article.

The best outcome for us IMO is, has been, and always will be Kane signing an extension with us and committing to the club for several more years if not the rest of his career. He's so good and irreplaceable by a single player plus how much he means to us emotionally as an academy graduate.

Still, the link to RM is hard to ignore if they actually would consider a big money offer. And I do worry about the effect on the team if Kane is playing out his final year. We want a reset and new project and presumably Kane would be captain next year. So, it's not a great look that there will be endless speculation about where Kane is off to and he maybe even signs a pre-contract in January. I just think that could have some real effects on us trying to create a unified squad all pulling in the same direction.

I cannot see Kane leaving this summer to Madrid.

But if I were to given a choice...

a) Kane plays this season & goes on free end of season to another club
b) Kane signs a new 5 year deal, and goes to Real Madrid for a year loan...

I will take option B no questions asked

For this season, we can always find another option, another way of playing and somehow make it to Europe. Its not a impossible task
Option B wouldn't be even possible in Football Manager

I’m sure the club have a long list of well scouted potential replacements lined up. Seeing as we are a multi billion pound football club, there’s no way a player who we’ve known may depart would be allowed to leave without a clear plan on who we can bring in so it’s not a complete disaster next season.

The timing is terrible; selling Kane and replacing whilst being outside CL/having no DoF and at best our 3rd option manager. Which class striker will want to come to the current sh*thouse that is Tottenham this summer?

I'd rather keep him than sell, largely because other people having money won't bring me the same joy Kane does.

If we had a settled manager it would make sense to sell and rebuild with the money. However with no sure thing with the next manager it would be crazy to sell him.

I'd rather see Kane join an English team than these entitled clowns .
Fuck that. Firstly This is definitely the best case scenario for us and Kane, especially in regards to not tarnishing his rep amongst the fanbase.
Secondly the other top clubs in England are just as entitled. Man United fans are the worst. I can't belive how many times I've heard people say he has to go to United to win trophies. Last time I looked they weren't guaranteed trophies, and haven't won a big one in 10 years. At least Real can say they've won CL 4 times in the last 7 years, or whatever it is.

They paid £100m for Hazard with one year on his deal four years ago, so it shouldn’t be a penny under 140m IMO.

Absolutely correct. He is light years ahead of Hazard as a player and has easily got 4/5 years at the very top left in him. He could go to Madrid and get 40 goals a season in all comps for the next 4/5 years.

If Madrid were to offer in the region of £140m then we would 100% accept it and look to rebuild completely under a new manager.

If you’re Madrid, why would you pay a fortune for him now when you can pick him up on a pre contract without a fee in 6 months time?

Because they need a top striker now.

They paid a fortune for Hazard with 1 year on his contract. No reason to think they won’t do the same for Kane.

I do wonder whether Madrid are covering their options with respect to their next striker though as
bild in Germany are reporting that they are in talks with Chelsea to sign Kai Havertz.

Yes, but this scenario makes no sense for Real Madrid. Not for the money they would have to pay for him now.
Always felt a real scenario could be Kane at Madrid for a year or two and they use him as a part of a player swap for Haaland so Kane can still break PL record at City
