Worst case scenario here would be this dragging out for ages and slowing our entire summer down. We're already well behind where we should be thanks to not having a manager or DoF so we can't afford to have this rumble on. If it's not sorted very early in pre-season then draw a line under it and move on.

I don’t see the logic in Kane going to Real this summer. I think the most logical thing he could do is sign a new 2 year contract with us, beat Shearer’s record then go to the likes of Real/Barca/PSG for free with our blessing. He’s the type of player who the top European clubs would take even in his mid thirties.

I cannot see Kane leaving this summer to Madrid.

But if I were to given a choice...

a) Kane plays this season & goes on free end of season to another club
b) Kane signs a new 5 year deal, and goes to Real Madrid for a year loan...

I will take option B no questions asked

For this season, we can always find another option, another way of playing and somehow make it to Europe. Its not a impossible task

He could go to Madrid for three years, win the lot and then come back to England for two to break the record.

Much rather that scenario than him go to Man Utd or god forbid Chelsea on a free.
It would be very difficult to break the record by then. This league is not going to be easy for a player well into their 30s. I would suggest it's easier to go to Spain in a few years when he's not in his prime years (Lewandowski and Benzema for example). He will not be scoring 30 a season for too much longer so would be better to do that while in his peak and break the record.

I would loan out Kane for a year, if he signs a new deal

For interim ,we could buy someone like Jonathan David...or loan Joao Felix. Hopefully we get back to Europe this year and bring back Harry next season. If required, we could sell Son then and keep David or Felix.

I really dont want Kane to move on a free end of season to some PL club. That is worse

Just a word of warning don’t be believing any Spanish reports about him wanting to go as they will push the Madrid narrative.

Let’s wait for our own connected journalists for updates

I think he can play very effectively well into his thirties, I guess it depends on who he plays for in terms of goals.

Just not sure your scenario is an option. I'm worried if we don't sell now we lose him to a rival for free.

If he wanted out I'd love to see him at Madrid with all their world class players

Think if he was on 261 PL goals he would go to Madrid for the next 5 years and win trophies with them

Why do people mention this loan fantasy? He has one year left, isn't signing a new deal so either gets sold or leaves for free next year. If he goes he signs a 5 year deal. Any mention of where he goes after is meaningless because his new club are going to have him under a long contract. City couldn't even get him off us in that situation. His next club might be his last, or he could sign for a smaller club when he's past it. I think there would be a massive void if he doesn't win anything in England. That would be more important to him than anything abroad. I can only see him leave for free next year and stay in England with his pick of teams.

I'd hate to see him go and God knows where we'd be without him, but thinking pragmatically - it's a better outcome to sell him to Madrid this summer than to lose him for free next summer and watch him play for another English club.

Yes we'll sorely miss his contribution to the team but if he's not going to sign a new contract then we'd be just delaying the inevitable for 1 year and run the risk of him going to United or worst... Chelsea 🤮

The perfect outcome is him signing a new deal. The next best one is for him to go to Madrid providing he's willing to forgo the Shearer record (which he could still achieve after 2-3 years in Madrid).

He will be good but in this league with the intensity it's going to be difficult to chase down the record. Especially with his record of ankle injuries.

But signing a 2 year deal seems so selfish in that we all know its just so he can get the record. Not sure how comfortable I'd be with that. 48 goals in next 2 seasons isn't easy even for Kane. Just takes an injury or 2 and then what. After 2 years he is on say 255?

Cant see Kane leaving the premiership when he’s so close to shearers record. Once it’s broken I can see him going abroad.
