Oh, of course some people would still run their mouths off, but if you start telling the joke yourself it loses it's power. You actually believe that?
People would still find a reason to take the piss, when you have a narrative against and people constantly jumping on the bandwagon you there's little you can do.
Just watched the video on SSN, that was definitely an attempt at a joke from them
Didn’t sound pre planned though. Or, if it was, Perez wasn’t aware. His laughter seemed far too natural to be rehearsed.
I agree with what you are saying. I do think that most of us are getting a little fed up with it especially as Liverpool fans seem to have taken offence by it despite the fact that their club, fans and players commit some truly disgusting things, whereas Harry has done something very mild, if bad at all, in comparison. To be honest it's part and parcel of being a big name player. How long did/has John Terry had to put up with the 'gatecrasher' bantz for instance? Lots of players put up with it over their careers if they get caught up in something that looks a bit daft, the best thing he can do is take it all as a compliment really - that he's achieved a level of fame/standing, respect, and fear from rival fans that he is getting stick, rather than being seen as irrelevant.
Obviously a couple of the 'incidents' from people in a professional capacity shouldn't really have happened, but from a fans perspective if this was another team we'd be piling on the bandwagon..... And not going 'oh its been two weeks, we'd better ease off now'.
Wouldn't it be great if the crowd show him real support during the game regardless of how he does just to show him he is our main man. Don't just sing his name if he scores
Quite interesting last couple games there’s been a couple of occasions where Kane may have shot but passed instead. They’ve been really noticeable tbh because you just almost know he will shoot at every opportunity. Wonder if he is getting teased and trying to show he isn’t selfish. It’s amazing how you can laugh stuff off as banter but subconsciously it actually has an effect. For whatever reason ever since the goal he hasn’t looked the same.
Full video here: https://www.premierleague.com/video/single/672596Anyone see on SSN just now, Kane and Eriksen v Pochettino and Perez taking free kicks and trying to knock plastic bottles over as part of a get rid of plastic campaign. Poch and Perez won and Kane said ‘well done gaffer though there were a few dodgy decisions’, and Eriksen said quite softly ‘appeal it’ or something similar and Perez cracked up. Very amusing though I expect SportBible to sensationalise it any moment....
Especially more so since they'd know that any level of failure will be met by huge criticism throughout. England players are on a hiding to nothing and can't win, which is exactly why I can imagine a lot of them aren't as enthused about playing for the national team.Needs a solid three or four against Watford on Monday, completely shake this none sense off.
Ridiculous that it’s gone this far or even that it went so public in the first place.
The FA gaff is a different matter and Poch is absolute right. Build players up. Embarrassing all round. I really don’t get why our media and own FA try to take down our own National stars before a tournament. That would annoy me as a player.
But still time for Harry to get it together again and finish this season strong.
There is a small chance that Salah could get banned for his swipe at Martins Indi, which would give Kane a shot at the golden boot...
