Look at the list of top transfers in world football:

Neymar £198m
Mbappe £163m
Coutinho £105m
Felix £104m
Dembele £97m

If City really think he is a £100m player then let them go and find another striker who has won the world cup golden boot and numerous league golden boots for that money. Hell, look at Chelseas pursuit of Lukaku, don't think he's ever won the golden boot yet Inter are looking at £110/120m for him.

Kane is coming off the back of a season where he got the most goals and assists in arguably the toughest league in the world, a league which City dominated, so yeah, we aren't going to bend over and accept what they want to pay.

Wouldn't surprise me if United entered discussions, especially if they sold Pogba for a decent fee.

Where did you get those stats from?

Griezmann was €120m, Ronny went for £105m not long ago to Juve, and Hazard was over £100m.

I was mulling over this and thought if Kane really wants to go to City and they really want him then we need to turn this around in our favour. They've spent an absolute fortune in stealing and poaching the best youngsters for their academy set-up - lets take their £100m and then strip their academy for the best three or four youngsters coming through as part payment. Players like Liam Delap are going to massive stars for somebody, and I bet Paratici has information on the best players there. Part payback for the Sancho affair and who knows what their market value will be in two or three years?

Some of Charlie Kane's ancestors also giving "expert" advice to famous people :

To the Captain of the Titanic "Left a bit, left a bit, whoa, MY left !"

To George Custer "They're singing and dancing over there tonight. Everything's fine"

(Come on, I'm sure you can think of some more) (y)

"Of course you can post images in the ITK thread you fool...It stands for 'Images totally kool'"

Sorry yeah Griezmann should be above Dembele. But Hazard and Ronaldo were less I thought? Either way, Hazard being £100m highlights Kane being worth a lot more.

Pretty sure Grealish is done and the talks breaking down is leaked information so that AV don’t get shafted on prices for incoming players.
Really hope there is a public deadline on the Kane stuff

Can’t see Levy accepting less than 150m or something in that region, anything less is a lowball for his value.

maybe I think that now Kane has played his hand we don't have much choice - they will play around with the figure it will be undisclosed with a few bonuses thrown in no doubt and you pays your money you takes your choice with what you want to believe ultimately City win the European cup they have a bargain really

and we need to brighten up our forward signings though perversely that might be easier without Kane

I think that would be an interesting compromise

Up a certain creek without a certain implement I reckon.

To fix this he'll have to be very contrite, make the right noises, knuckle down and score goals. Then, we have exactly one season to start winning things. Progress and potential won't cut it any more. I think IF he stays we have one more season of him which will get him tantalisingly close to Greaves record (I think), how much of a pull breaking that would be nobody knows.

I have no doubt that if he accepts he isn't leaving this year, or even if he doesn't 'accept' it but that's how it pans out, he'll still do his best, after that, well, it's football, anything could happen.

I don't agree with how he's acted or even like it that much but despite how many disagrees this is going to get i'm going to say it anyway, he IS one of our own and this IS all fixable. I'd take three more years of him right now, even if it means losing him for nothing at the end of his contract.
Sums how I feel, others may disagree but I hope he stays and by some miracle we really get our act together and do something this season, show real ambition, win something.

Way way back in the Harry Kane thread I said the same, I would take the three remaining years of his contract and lose him for nothing. That to me has more value than the money, we would have had almost ALL the best years of a generational player.

I still don’t see City paying 150m and I don’t see Levy selling for less. I think this one may be revisited next summer.

The other factor I didn’t mention, is that next summer Haarland becomes available for approx £75m and he’s 7 years younger and doesn’t have a history of ankle injuries.

If Lukaku is valued at what I saw yesterday, Kane is £200m minimum. I stand by it.

No if and buts, Kane’s value to us is massive, he’s the top scorer, the top assisted, he’s the England captain. Top three players in the world probably. The club is currently trying to attract massive sponsorship deals for the stadium etc etc. He’s far more valuable to us than a 28 year old player with slightly fragile ankles. We should t even be picking the phone up unless the fee starts with a 2.

We wont get 150m this summer but we also wont get 100m next summer. The only way it can be justified to hold on to him this summer and see his value reduce next summer is by getting into the CL and perhaps winning something.

If he had four years left on his contract then definitely keep him but given the situation i think we need to establish whether the benefit of keeping Kane for another season will offset the reduction in value next summer.

Very true. With that perhaps there's an element of risk involved and could it then boil down to his personal preference. Everyone will be meeting that number, even us

Giggs, Scholes, and Maldini can fuck right off. It's easy to be a one club player when your club is the dominant force in your league. The others respect.

So we’d have a ready made replacement ;)

We are far more likely to have success with him in my opinion, it’s not even close. I think there is a very high probability we would waste the money, lots of people on here are way too over optimistic that the money would be spent well. Loads of names flying round who have never kicked a ball in the premier league, a notoriously difficult league to adapt too. The likely hood of mistakes in the transfer market as we often do is really high.

Sorry mate I think that's rose tinted specs he holds all the power in this and he will walk and we won't get near the 200 mill it will be a compromise City know that and we know that its all about walking away with the least egg on your face now sadly - imo get it done quickly and give everyone time to move on
Levy holds the power. Zero chance Kane downs tools in a World Cup year, wastes a year of chasing Shearers record, not going to happen.
