Harry has had a right royal rant after the Villarreal game. He is concerned that there is international friendlies the week of the opening PL game. He will see the majority of the squad for the last time after the Fiorentina game next Saturday and then only get back with most of the first 11 on the Friday prior to our lunch time kick off on the 14th.

As harry pointed out the majority of the squad were together out here in SA, why in Hell would they need another meaningless friendly. what will it prove???? Whilst i was shitting myself about that game against city and all their new signings now i am down right having diarrhoea spells. ah maybe that city will be subject to the same problem will help, except they do not play a CL qualifier the following week.

That friendly is a bloody disgrace, we should refuse to release our players as should all the other clubs as well.

Just pull all the players from the squad the day before with a selection of minor injuries as excuses. Liverpool have done that for years.

Isn't it a FIFA agreed international date? It's not just England but all the internationals will be away.

But it is ridiculous.

Yeah it doesn't just affect us. You also have to think it will be a lot tougher for City because they have plenty of new faces. We have a settled team, so we don't really need time to gel, just a bit of time to get up to speed.

This is shocking, I didn't realise the internationals were taking place so soon.

It is massively pointless. And English clubs are the most affected (out of the main leagues) as we start our season before the others.

I genuinely think international friendlies should be scrapped. Not once have we ever learnt anything vaguely useful from an international friendly. Pre-season friendlies are all about fitness which is why the results don't matter. By the time the international friendlies start everyone should be up to speed, but the result still doesn't matter thus making it the most pointless exercise in football.

Scrap them...scrap them I say.

It seems a bit silly. What are FIFA thinking?

You can add it to FIFA's latest cock-ups, like not allowing goal line technology or some form of challenge system that every other fucking sport on the planet has now - bunch of absolute numpties...

I would say all the premier league chairman should come together to form a union act against it by refusing to release any of their players. It's complete madness to have a friendly that close to the big kick off, even worse for us as our game starts earlier than the other 9 games that weekend. Harry has every right to feel angered by it.

The timing of this game is crazy, but this could be an important match for Capello. He's got to change a few things in the squad now and this will give him a chance to blood a few newbies. May-be Dawson will finally get the chance he deserves as well.

I hope not. I'd be happy for all our players to announce their international retirement to be honest.

Just imagine if Daws got injured 3 days before the start of the season whilst on England duty. Ridiculous.

Of greater concern to me is this game comes in the week that the PL starts. we have a lunch time kick off he would only spend a day with the squad.the bigger problem is we then play a CL qualifier on the Tuesday or Wednesday. this has the potential to derail us. OK maybe i am being dramatic as we could get a easy tie in the CL. however if we need to travel away some where we could find ourselves having a 2008 start to the season.

Harry is whinging like a right little bitch at the moment. Moaning about other clubs with money (boo hoo, Arsenal finish in the top 4 every season and spend very little every season, work harder), moaning about the amount of games, moaning about friendlies, moaning about the Russian donkey.

Give it a rest Harold.
