Yeah, I think Ramos is the nuts but reading this gave me flashbacks to one of Hoddles major negatives: man management. He just ignores players he doesn't want to pick which is counter-productive. If they're not in your plans, fine. But at least don't damage their re-sale value. The reason we lost so much money on Rebrov (~£9M of the £11M) was because Hoddle just froze him out completely.

We won't recoup much for Kaboul now as people will assume Ramos thought he was crap and didn't work hard. Better to put his arm around him and say 'keep you head down and hopefully you'll get your chance' so he doesn't mouth off. Or better, keep him in the shop window in an end-of-the-season game that has no bearing...

I agree with EddieBailey and nickspurs that the most interesting element is Kaboul's comments on Ramos' management style.

As a counter-balance, I have read lots of comments from former Ramos players stating that he is fantastic at giving them one or two very precise instructions before a match about how he wants them to play, or how to exploit a weakness in the opposition.

It's also fairly natural that Kaboul, an ambitious player who's not in the first team squad when he thinks he should be, will be critical of the new coach. I wouldn't be surprized if Kaboul's comments aren't in part designed to ensure he gets a move away from Spurs in the summer.

My sense of Ramos is that he is probably quite a cerebral coach (like Benitez) rather than a matey, arms round the shoulder, coach like Jol. However, a lot of the touch feely stuff could easily come from "Radio Poyet", who by most accounts has a lot to say all of the time.

It's so ridiculous, the answer to the question about Ramos/Jol was completely mistranslated by Setanta as was the question about being dropped--after reading it carefully, the Setanta article is a total wind up. That's what happens when you apparently don't have anyone on staff that speaks French--and when you are trying very hard to make something out of nothing, in the context of other new source's speculation about Kaboul's future. Loccotro's translation is much closer to the original.

"Martin Jol is a person"? And how they got Kaboul "pining for the French League" from the slight nostalgia in his answer about watching French matches (which clearly states his preference for England) is beyond me. Give me a fucking break...

Its not that damning actually, in fact the last half of the quotation is just an emphatic statement--he says: "I did not have any explanations on his part. He doesn't speak, not with anybody. There is no communication with him (literally: communication with him doesn't exist)"--that sounds damning to you? Sounds pretty innocuous to me...

Locotoro did translate the sentences, only a bit more literal. And with the punctuation used by Setanta, it sounds as if Kaboul's response was curt, snapped back or angry which is not the implication of the supposedly damning sentences at all.
