Not sure it's in the nature of a lot of Prem managers nowadays. Brentford and possibly Villa are the best sides in the league that aren't ultra attacking.
Potentially not but I just see us dominating games a lot more this season. Which in turn will lead to more packed defences.

If it's good enough for us to notice players as good enough to be bought in then it's good enough to develop other youngsters to get them to that point. I'd rather they play week in week out in front of big crowds in the Juliper pro league for instance, than be bench options in the championship
Veliz has been playing in the Argentina league so does he really need to go to Belgium for his development? I am no expert on Argentinian football but I'm willing to wager the Belgian league isn't well above it in quality.

I don't think it's a bad move. Still CL/Europa football and good experience playing in a team wanting to compete for league titles. Would prefer the move for Scarlett out of the two. Veliz looks like a bit more of a battering ram so could make more sense being kept back as a potential sub ST for us.

It's way cooler to win trophies at a place that hasn't won them recently, Gift. You set the world on fire more that way than being just another name on the wall. Jordan wasn't at the Lakers or Celtics. Brady wasn't at the Cowboys or Steelers or Bears or Packers. I'll probably get mocked for cross-sports references but the trailblazers are the real legends.

When did he say this?

Maddison slagged off Spurs and Bale on his twitter years back but it didn't mean anything to his or our decision now.

I wouldn't read too much into that tbh, if a player like him playing in the Belgian league gets an offer to come to a top 6 revenue PL club and to add to his ego to replace Harry Kane, he will seriously consider that offer especially when the other teams he's mentioned don't need a striker right now.

A lot of British players have gone on loan to Belgian teams in the past, would be a good move for Scarlett if that's what we're thinking.
Maybe give them Devine/Phillips too for a year

We need to be careful about using up our loans abroad quota. I'm sure we'll need to look at loaning out a few senior players by the end of the window.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but when this got brought up (last week?) I thought that it had been clarified that the loan limits are for over 21s?
