I posted in one of the other threads, it really got to me before the game on Sky, they were doing the same stuff, pretty much selling off half of our squad from under our noses, saying Keane would leave, etc. I know they get paid to speculate endlessly, but the way they substantiate their 'opinions' as fact really winds me up.

And they just keep asking questions that are easily answerable: "Why is Bent not playing?" Erm, because he has the best partnership in the Premiership in front of him who are scoring consistently. End of. They're moaning about Keane being subbed, moaning that Bent isn't starting, yet all acknowledging that Berbatov is apparently too good for us. So who the hell are we supposed to drop?

Idiots.

Agreed.

The boys on Soccer Saturday were surpassing their own ignorance today. Phil Thompson claiming that Malbranque was as poor as anybody for the first half of the season but is now playing well. I'm pretty sure 90% of us on here would argue thats the complete OPPOSITE of the sort of season Steed has actually had. :bang:

To be fair Paul Walsh (the only one on today's Soccer Saturday panel who doesn't hate Spurs) was arguing that Keano won't be leaving. But that probably means Sky will sack him for possibly committing the cardinal sin of actually talking sense rather than aiming to sensationalise every non-story the red-tops can think up. :bang:

Idiots.

Le Tisser, Thompson and Nicholas were all suggesting that Keane will go in the summer cos he's been subbed a few times lately.

I used to love Soccer Saturday, but with comments like that over the last season or two it's just turned into talkSPORT TV.

It's just got ridiculous. Everything they said was wrong – not just a subjective opinion, unutterably wrong. You'd think, after we gave them one of their games of the season this week, Sky would cut us some slack.

Thompson was a right tit. When you look back on the 6 times Keane ahs been subbed in the last 8, I think that includes when we were 4-0 up against the scum in the semi, in ET in the cup final when we were defending our lead, PSV away when he had run himself out, and then yesterday when we were 2 up.

Of course Keane is goign to leave, having won his first medal, being on a well paid contract, playing and scoring and creating every week and being vice captain. I think some of the panellists think we will have a complately new first XI next season!

They dont have a clue, the only thing they know is that rumours and conjecture make them seem informed and important. Unfortunately they are becoming more and more like a tabloid paper

Keane leaving? What a bizarre piece of speculation. The last person you would think of after King. Sounds like they were just trying to create a new story instead of re-hashing the same old Berba stuff.

You must remember, as far as the media is concerned, we (and every 'other' team) are just a stepping stone towards playing for a big 4 club.
