If I was in Bale's shoes I'd be desperate to play against Real Madrid as soon as possible.
maybe even before the end of the month
If I was in Bale's shoes I'd be desperate to play against Real Madrid as soon as possible.
Given that almost all of SC were (not that long ago) in agreement that only two or three clubs could afford to do the deal I think it's safe to assume clubs aren't exactly beating a path to Madrid's door with offers. It's very likely that there aren't that many options right now and as far as I'm aware, the first hurdle to overcome, before Bale even gets to nod or shake his head at any offer, is that Madrid must accept one.If that is the blocker fair play. But it doesn't feel this is the stumbling block.

So IMO it's not a case at all of Bale turning down X, Y or Z (and remember, according to SC, they were the only clubs who could afford him) you have to wonder if there's actually been any vaguely acceptable offers made at all from the clubs who previously were written off as candidates by a lot of people on SC. I don't understand how we get from only three clubs can afford him to where we are now, people giving him stick for potentially going somewhere.
It's still relatively early in the Spanish transfer window and there's still a lot of stuff to be played out but if, at the end of the day, an offer from China is all that's on the table, what's he to do? Stay at Madrid and effectively write off the twilight of his career or go to China and effectively write of the twilight of his career. Either choice will have people saying words like 'greed' or 'happy to play golf', so he can't win because he was supposed to have magically accepted an offer that wasn't there. And it's all stuff from us, who know absolutely nothing about how it all goes down, the ins and outs, the whole thing.
And before people say he should lower his demands........Why? That is something you do, if you do it at all, right at the last knockings of a transfer window, why would you do it with weeks to go? He's playing poker with Madrid and he holds a lot of the cards, he doesn't have to do anything on the hurry up even though that might disappoint a few people
Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has told SSN that manager Zinedine Zidane was "promised Gareth Bale would not still be at the club this season" when he returned to the Santiago Bernabeu earlier this year.
Mad that ZZ dislikes him that much that it seems it was decided before he came back that he'd be selling him this summer.
Nobody is making any sort of excuse. There's nothing that needs excusing.
I've seen a lot of people offer up one scenario or another as possibilities because we don't know the full facts.
I've also seen a lot of people posting about his being greedy, which is weird, because (guess what) we don't know the full facts.
It's all very SC
I havn't misunderstood anything. I don't know anything for a fact, and nor do you I'm afraid.
But in my opinion it appears greedy, as earning obscene money is clearly the paramount factor in his decision making instead of playing at the top level that his ability and condition clearly still allow for.
Why does Zidane dislike him so much? I don't get it
Bizarre, he seems the model pro and definitely doesn't have an attitude issue. Why does Zidane dislike him so much? I don't get it
Hard to turn down a million quid a week though. That’s his family set for generations. I can understand it, he’s been playing top level football since he was 16.
Let’s not forget Dembele did the same thing in January. It’s not a one off.
If I was in Bale's shoes I'd be desperate to play against Real Madrid as soon as possible.
Is Dembele really a like for like comparison, not sure personally.
Bale is far too to good to be going to China now. It just seems ridiculously premature when you consider his ability and physical condition.
