Sky claiming Bale could become the world’s highest earning player even though he’s already on 600,000 squids a week.

So a club is going to offer to pay more for Bale even though RM can’t really afford him anymore?

Absolute wank shafts

if Bale was 4/5 years older you would say go to China and take them to the cleaners. But at 30 I still think he has 3 or 4 good years left at a big club. Personally I think he will go Bayern to replace Robben. I just don't see how he will take a 400k wage cut to come Spurs....then again will Bayern offer more than 250k a week? Real Madrid and Zidane have played this one terribly.

Whole situation sounds like a game of cat and mouse between Bale and Madrid at the moment. Really comes down to how desperate Madrid are to move him on. Once the English deadline passes, the only realistic options are PSG or China imo. Bayern possibly but they don't tend to go to those crazy levels of wages so may require some help from Madrid. However if it does come to a stage where Madrid just want him gone and accept they might need to help out with his wage, then think that opens the door for a couple of clubs in England.

Just sounds messy and complex but wouldn't be surprised if an English club or two made a take it or leave it offer (both with regards to fee and Madrid contributing to his salary) right towards the end of the window knowing that after the English window closes, options for his departure narrow quite a bit. Realistically can't see past PSG, China and maybe an outside chance of Bayern once the English window closes. No doubt Madrid are trying to whip up the stories of him moving to China as they can wash their hands of his wages completely if he moves there.

Or he stays there on that salary with the manager (and what seems a large section of their support), not a fan

Wonder if Bale’s agent has just completely played ZZ. ZZ gets orders to play Bale, agent tells ZZ that he has a club lined up in China and he’ll be gone by the middle of the week, but he shouldn’t risk the player. ZZ’s eyes light up, leading him to the press conference situation, which just about burns any leverage at all Real had and in turn puts him in the doghouse with the President. Just a genuinely bonkers situation all round.

Well call me crazy but i’d believe Barnett there. He’s not going to call Zidane a disgrace if Bale asked not to play. Also, thats a classic diversion tactic by a man who probably spent the last day getting chewed out by his boss for destroying the little leverage they had in a move that might save them £93m. He’s now guaranteed that they’ll have to subsidize a sizeable portion of his wages. Diverting the blame but also subsequently digging in even deeper. He obviously wants Bale gone and doesnt like him at all. He doesnt care how it ends up as long as Bale is gone.

What a colossal mess. Not a good look for anyone really.

Personally I think we’re well out of this one - much prefer us to be going for younger players, which we’re doing

I'd be stunned if Bayern went for Bale. In the past 3 seasons they haven't signed a player older than 23 so going for a 30 year old with injury issues on mega wages would be very unlike them. If they're going to push the boat out for an expensive wide player it will almost certainly be Sane, who is younger, German and just seems destined to end up there sooner or later.

I think it is quite simple. Bale needs to earn the same and play for a top CL club, or earn double to reluctantly play in China. I cannot see a Chinese club paying him £1m a week AND paying RM a big fee. So in either scenario RM need to take a financial hit to get him off their books. If they let him go for free then I am sure clubs could find a way to pay him a signing on fee and a wage in line with their own wage structure. Whatever happens, Zidane has made RM's position very, very difficult.

Bale will stay and run his contract down. He MAY get the chance to play when Madrid are struggling and I can’t see Wales not playing him because he isn’t match fit.

The only way out is if Madrid pay his contract off

Yet they kept paying Robben (34) and Ribery (35) top wages each year despite being well over this so called “age policy”
