Played well until the Chelsea game imo. But looked very ordinary ever since. And pretty awful in between.
Fulham (H) and Palace (A) prior to the Chelsea game were not great performances either. From minute 55 against Fulham to the end of the Palace game we had one shot on target (Son's goal at Palace).

Conte was totally right , it comes from
above where coming 4th or 5th is totally acceptable . Wenger got hounded out when he thought 4th was a trophy . Until that mentality changes we will always be competing for 4th at best .
Wenger said that in 2012. He left Arsenal in 2018 only after he stopped achieving top 4 finishes.

Yeah but you can say this about virtually every team in the league, other than maybe Man C and Liverpool. The only difference is those teams don’t like the pressure of trying to win to move into the European places, or avoid relegation.

Any idiot can point that out. There’s thousands of people in the stadium who can tell you that. I don’t find it an interesting or insightful comment at all since my dog could probably figure it out.

The more interesting question is how we fix it. Someone like Klopp got on with doing something about it whereas Conte moaned about how hard his job was and basically resigned.
Conte moaned! Did you listen to what Ange said pre match on Friday? "The reality sometimes you can’t make the changes that you want to anyway because there are people committed to the club that you can’t change" That is a direct quote, you can see it online, I am not making it up. Is that Ange moaning or telling it like it is?

One year on and a lot of fans still like to insist that Conte was the problem and that Conte didn't want to be here. He didn't want to be at a club that sees CL qualification as the goal. He's not stupid, he knows we cannot spend 350M+ in one window, which is why he asked for time and patience becuase he needed several years to assemble a squad to compete.

I feel sorry for any manager at Tottenham if there are people at the club who, amidst a 20 year trophy drought, refuse to change, it makes the job almost impossible.

I think the main difference is Conte never wanted to be here. He wanted to leave and got himself sacked.

Ange seems to want to be here and give it a good go. If he decides he can’t be bothered with it and slags off the club and the players I’ll probably have the same view of him as I do of Conte.

Conte was the problem, you may think there's another problem and yo may be right but that don't mean Conte wasn't the problem.

(since I can no longer buy tickets for anyone who isn't a member - fuck you Spurs).
Think you will find that is the situation at nearly every PL club, no membership no ticket.
Perhaps Spurs should start a Forest style membership , pay £95 and you are guaranteed to be able to purchase a ticket for a home match, and go on the season ticket waiting list for only £95.

Very selective in the extract you have chosen...

“Real change means people, habits, behaviours and making strong decisions around those things – and not just a new manager comes in and everything’s going to be all right. It doesn’t work that way.”
“It’s an ongoing process but usually within the first month or six weeks, you get a good pretty good indication with the direction and how strong I need to be.
“The reality is that sometimes you can’t make the changes anyway, there are people committed to the club and you can’t change. Then you have to find a way to work through that process.
“For me, it’s usually the first month where I keep my mouth shut, look and listen and breathe in what information I can. Then I make my assessments from there.”

See this is why I can never take one line quotes seriously, as they're generally out of context.

Not sure what is selective or out of context - it is clear that Ange beleives there are things at the club that he cannot change becuase of certain people "committed" to the club.

Because the bits before and (in this case) after are key - Then you have to find a way to work through that process.

There may be some he cannot change as they are deadset in their ways, but that doesn't mean he won't try to work around it.

It never used to be the case.
