I didn't particularly rate him, until we didn't have him and then I accepted his awesomeness. Welcome back Benny!(y)

And Tom's 'fro is officially ridiculous. I can't look at him without laughing. That thing is now bigger than Tom Carroll.

Perhaps he could smuggle Little Tommy Carroll onto the pitch under his hair. Wee Tommy could dart out, make an incisive pass, and dart back again, much like the young of Mouth Brooding Fish:

Benny may allow Verts to play CB but he is not a good left back IMO.

Both he and Verts at left back are much the same, have defensive lapses that cannot be sustained by a team challenging for the top of the PL.

Benny's return won't strengthen us and will likely mean Caulker drops out and I don't see that as a plus at all.

The combination of having BAE back and Vertonghen through the middle will make the link up play between defence and midfield so much stronger. Should enhance our ability to dictate possession (a MAJOR problem for us this season imo).

Literally cannot wait until we can field a back 5 of:

Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen BAE

Settled and a few games together, thats as good as any back 5 in the league imo

I disagree, I think benny is calm on the ball, works hard getting forward, can cross, shoot and generally is a massive asset to the team, i would put him in with the best left backs in the league, with only Cole and Baines being ahead of him in my opinion. Will be great to have him back, will also mean Verts can have a bit of a rest if need be before returning to the middle where I think he belongs.

Cole is top 3 material and Baines too.

You won't see Manure, Citeh or the Chavs coming in for Benny. We need better preferably.

no we don't. benny is a boss and i'm tired of the constant baines love in, being able to take a nice freekick once in a while does not a top left back make. cole, whilst a complete twat is a top left back, just like benny is. it astounds me when people just casually drop in and say "not good enough for top 4, easily upgraded" ... easily upgraded with who you fuckwhits? marcelo? he obviously is good enough for a top 4 team otherwise he wouldn't have started near enough every league game the two times we finished in the top 4!

Who is better then? And gettable? Not that we could but I’d rather wipe my ass with a hedgehog rubbed in tobasco than see cole play for us. Baines would cost circa £20m and isn't much of an upgrade. I honestly can't think of any left back in the world who would be better and not cost a small fortune. Ok i'm not a scout but i'm not sure there is any one. I do think we shoul be getting a good young left back (maybe Rose will become that player but i'm not convinced) who can provide cover and potentially replace Benny in a few years.... but not yet.
