CBA to find the quotes mate but Joe Hart said that Nuno dragged him into his office and told him he would never play for us again. Didn’t want to discuss or anything just told him he had passed his best and that was it. Basically he was a dick about it
Which is basically what all managers do with players but he had the decency to tell Hart to his face. By all accounts he could have done it more diplomatically but id give him credit for that rather than use it as a stick to beat him with.

Nuno always seemed a classy guy. Didn't throw people under the bus, carried himself well. A lot of the squad didn't rate his methods or things like separating the squad for Europe but I never got the sense they didn't like him personally.

I think Jacques Santini may get my vote
Disagree. We didn’t have anywhere near the same level of squad when Santini was in charge.

The only manager who runs him close is Sherwood imo, I dislike that guy so much it actually made it really hard to watch us. However that’s more to do with how he carried himself rather than the shite served up by Nuno

Christian Gross gets my vote witbout a doubt ?
By a country mile. But there are plenty that were worse than Nuno. Sherwood, Santini, who was the guy that got us relegated in the 70s?

Nuno didn’t exactly cover himself in glory, neither did Mourinho before him, but there have been far worse.

Burkinshaw got us relegated didn't he? You might be thinking Terry Neill before him?

Gross was the worst I've seen followed by Ossie or Shreeves in his second spell. Ossie was at least entertaining.

That’s the fella. Though well before my time.

Pep is a massive Bellend though.

If you are a nice guy it’s not how you deliver that sort of news before even seeing the lad kick a ball

He obviously had seen enough of Hart's decline to come to that judgement. Much like the rest of us since his career trajectory after being told by Pep he wouldn't be needed. We're talking about a guy who couldn't get a game at Burnley the season before.

Adebayor had a mini revival under Sherwood but when Poch took over he made it clear that he was not in his plans. Nothing personal and Adebayor has since come out and said he respects Poch for being clear about that rather than pussyfoot around him. There's only one difference between that and Nuno-Hart and that is in summer 2014 Adebayor was a more crucial member of the squad than Hart could ever dream of.

Is that true though? I thought at the time there was info coming out of the club that he was sulky, difficult to deal with and not very personable.

The Joe Hart situation shows a lack of tact and emotional intelliegnce in my opinion. I agree it is a positive to be frank and upfront with a player but here is a way to do it.

Put your mortgage, your car, savings, wife and kids on Conte to win a trophy in his first season. In fact, put all of mine on it too.
