Think we're doing well and in control. However, Our final ball/crossing has been a real weakness all season.

The ref won't give us anything, we just need to keep plugging away.

That fuck up by Soldado was comical. His ball was terrible but the run he made straight at the keeper was even worse. Chadli did the same. Such basic stuff. Work a better angle.

Hopefully we will continue to dominate in the second half as well this game.

And take our chances...

Just don't challenge for attacking headers because the ref thinks that's a foul even if you are nowhere near the opposition...

Great half from us, but as usual not many incisive chances, APART FROM THE ONE.

If our season collapses from here, this may have been the turning point.

Soldado fans please stand up!?

That's what you get for 26 million pounds well spent.

At least he made the run to get onto the ball :)

Fucking love Bobby - no matter what you say!

He's the Mighty Ducks of Premier League football. We just haven't reached the 3rd act yet :shifty::finger:

Poor Bobby.

Anyway, whilst it was mostly due to Fiorentina letting us, we controlled the half and should have gotten that goal we needed. It'll get easier as they tire. It's tough as they're so compact, but I think we'll get to the stage where lumping it continually into the box will be our best option.

Eriksen gets the ball > Everyone else gets in the box > Ball gets cleared > Ball is picked up > Give ball to Eriksen

Rinse and repeat, and that should get you a goal eventually.

Good first half performance. Only thing missing from the performance is a goal. Keep playing like we are and we'll get it.

The ref is blowing up for everything when we are In their box. Must be an offence to jump for a header now.

Done pretty well first half. Kept the ball well and been patient.

However, on a tricky pitch with quite a wind blowing, a disciplined opposition and a crappy ref, you really need to take your chances and, ignoring Soldado's epic fuck up if we can, I don't really where we can consistenly hurt them and eek out 3-4 good chances.

Soldado and Chadli definitely need to buck up their ideas. They are the strike threats but offering very little. I'd stick Kane on now, and Townsend on the hour if things haven't changed, as we need pace to get at them and he's the only option (unless Rose is pushed up...).

Doable, but need a bit more in the final third.

If Bobby had thought about it he would have scored, with Chadli running left the goalie had started to commit himself, Bobby should have taken a step to his right and he would have had an empty goal.

Ref is abysmal. We should be one up but the goal was saved because Bobby has no confidence, the keeper knew he would pass. We have played well, Soldado may yet score but his PL career and probably his top league career is done IMO. (top half team, not top League)

Ok but it's too early for people to be talking about shooting him or taking him off after 35 mins.

Can't agree, a very average striker is paid to score goals, let alone a 26 million pound one. If you cannot shoot when clean through, with only the keeper to beat, your as much use as an umbrella on a summers day.

If people can put the Soldado bashing aside... Think we have looked good this half.

They have sat back and tried to frustrate us but we have been well on top. Albeit barely any clear cut chances

Bit worried about the ball over the top, nearly caught out a few times.
Kane on 2nd half this game is there for the winning

i'd have chadli off, when did he stop running at defenders, excellent half him aside.

Good player, but he's never really run at players. He either goes to the byline or across the box with the ball, or makes quality runs behind without the ball. All part of why I think he should be moved to striker full time and we make reinforcements at winger.

We're getting in the right positions to cross but the crosses are either not good enough or we're not really attacking the ball well. There doesn't seem to be anyone that's taking the game by the scruff of the neck and forcing something. This is what Kane does best. Hope we see him sooner than later.

I wasn't even making excuses for him, I just thought we'd been playing pretty well and it didn't warrant the mass SC panic reaction.

"Shoot him!" "Burn him!" "He punched my dog!"
Lol - I wasn't actually being sarcastic, but reading it back I can see how it may have come across! For clarification, I agree lol.
