Not watching European football and not really knowing the merits of all the players being mentioned, could Perisic possibly cover RWB as well?
"could" certainly, but he hasn't been tested there as far as I'm aware.

He's extremely "ambipedal", so in theory yeah, he might be able to do it, but theory and practice are two wholly different things.

I can't imagine we've bought a player in from a season of being one of the best LWBs in the world, at his age, with the express intent of playing him at RWB. At the same time, maybe he gets tested there if we have a deep need and he comes up trumps. Conte did experiment with Sess and Doherty as flipped WBs a couple of times this season, and his hand was also forced into playing our wing backs on their opposite flanks by injury too.

Thanks for your answer, I didn’t mean we should flip him to rwb, just could we, in an emergency, probably didn’t explain myself!

I would have faith in Perisic to do at the very least an adequate job if asked to shift from one side to the other. As you say, he’s genuinely two-footed. Add to that his exceptional levels of experience and footballing intelligence and he’d be absolutely fine shifting in to multiple positions as the need arises.

We don't need 3 LWBs.

I'm not even continuing this conversation.
Indeed. With Davies being able to cover in emergencies the money would be better spent elsewhere. I think Kostic is a good player but was no longer needed once we gave Perisic a 2 year contract.

It's an issue for Sess who would hardly see any game time.
I don't want to repeat myself but with a 50+ game season coming along with 5 subs I think there would be plenty of game time for all three. Each of them have different qualities which suit different opposition and you'd expect at least two of them to play in every game.

Looks like it's not going to happen now anyway so not a problem.
