Feeling a little sorry for Everton?

Having been on the end of this sort of stuff ourselves, it riled me a little to watch the MOTD panel discussing why John Stones should join Chelsea. This morning, their quotes are being run on the BBC website as a lead story under the headline 'Chelsea move would benefit Stones'. Marca-esque stuff and it just feels wrong.

I find the Sky and MOTD 'big 5' bias nauseating. And it doesn't matter where we or anyone else would theoretically finish, it's always the top 4 and Liverpool.

Really annoying. But it's the nature of the world. And up to us as fans and our team to change it.

For me it's just wrong.

The pundits should be analysts. If they believe Chelsea should be on the look out for a centre back then say it. They shouldn't be touting these players.

Exactly, how hard is it to say "if Chelsea are looking for a CB then Stones is one if the best young defenders in the PL so I'm not surprised by the link" and then when asked should Stones join Chelsea, they should just sit on the fence. Definitely feel for Everton.

Like the picked on kid in the playground, although you feel sorry for the other kid getting tormented today deep down you are pleased that just for today it's not you.

But then you read in the paper that Everton are one of the few teams that have been officially punished for tapping up.

For me it's this. International PL coverage is just awful. As if the other teams are there just to get beaten by the select 4 or 5 they promote week after week.

Stones isn't allowed to develop at Everton, to play every week and become better.. he has to go to Chelsea just because they want him. Kane isn't allowed to want to stay at Spurs, Lloris as well. Everyone should just go to Chelsea or Man Utd and win things.. and presumably be part of a 50 man squad if they sign everyone they should? Would Stones displace Cahill? or become just another bit part player until Terry goes? Nah, just go to the top clubs and win stuff. Simple.

Get real guys, John Stones needs to move, and move right now, to a club in the top 4, it's what's best for his development, in a few years he could be the next Phil Jones if Neverton would just stop holding him hostage...

I was always the guy who wouldn't let that happen. I beat up my best friend at school for picking on a kid with fucked up teeth. He was a bit racial about the boy too, so when he threw a coke can in this boys face and made his corn beef bleed... I fucked up my best friend good... Real good :D

No suprise I think it's out of order what the media are doing. Has a much better chance of development at Everton. Very young still.

You might be right but the point you've missed is people don't think it's right for BBC pundits to be doing the touting.

There was a large dose of sarcasm in my post, surely the Phil Jones bit gave that away!

A move to Chelsea isn't going to affect his England chances....
Roy's already said he doesn't care if a player spends the season on the bench at City, United, Arsenal or Chelsea.
The move WILL happen in the next 3 weeks, but it's the wrong move for Stones.
He's going to play second fiddle to Cahill & Terry for at least one season, if not two.

Best for his footballing education is to stay put until he can be assured that a move will see him in the starting XI for a top 4 side. At the moment there's no need to move.

On the back of all the talk of Chelsea's interest in John Stones last week, it did make me grin to see Odion Ighalo put him flat on his arse when going through to score Watford's 2nd goal on Saturday.:)
