Good point. Wasn't that for 4:3? Right on the edge of the box and he managed to get it over the wall and back down again. amazing skill

The game finished 4:3 but that freekick drew us level at 3 each (Stalteri famously scored the winner)

To me there is no question that the Gazza free kick in 1991 is the best and most important I have ever seen from a man in a Spurs shirt

Gazza in 91 is the stand out winner for me. The quality of the free kick, the importance of the match and the opponents made it a perfect goal.

Got to be this one for the reasons stated. Even better as I was in the middle of their end and witnessed their pain.

Yep, I think Waddle told him to kick into Row Z to eat up a bit of time. So God smashed it into the back of the net.
That's the one i was going to vote for - FA CUp if i remember rightly, Waddle scored from an accute angle then Hoddle had a free kick 25-30 yards out and belted it into the top corner - all power - it absolutely flew into the net. Thats how i remember it anyway....
Didn't the rumours say he missed the next game or 2 with a bruised foot from striking that free kick so fiercely?

In my lifetime Ziege v Arsenal and Berbatov v West Ham stand out.

I was only two at the time, but I've obviously seen the Gazza clip a million times in years since. Hoddle's that several have mentioned was two years before I was born, but again I've seen that several times.

Still, got to give it to Gazza. Insane.

I remember Gazza scoring a hat-trick of free-kicks against Derby (Shilton in goal). I have a feeling he scored a 4th as well but it was dissallowed because the ref hadnt blown his whistle. We barely score 3 free kicks a season now!

Favourite is Hoddle against Wimbledon in 87. Could have won the treble that year and ended up with nothing, a feeling that has become oh so familiar.

Having been going to matches since 94 I have the grand total of about 5 free kicks in that time to choose from, it's like picking your favourite Halleys comet.

Obviously Gazza will win this, but for one that I was conscious of and also there, Jenas at OT was pretty special.

Bentley/Kirkland og wigan 9-1
Was right behind the goal for THAT 2nd half, my first game I had been to in about 3 or 4 years and I had 8 goals up my end. Gotta give it to Bentley, great technique.

What's this Ziege one vs. Arsenal people are on about? I have a pretty good memory, but can only remember a Ziege free-kick against Man City when we cocked it up from being 3-0 up.

Never mind, think I found it on Youtube.

The flight on that ball is craaaaazy, stays so flat. Still think Benny could do that for us.

Hoddle scored several, and with him you knew where they went were basically exactly where he'd intended to the inch. He probably meant to bounce the ball off Hutchison in the 81 cup final.

it's on here:

I remember the game well, Chrissy Waddle fired the other one. Imagine having both of those in the team(probably even now wouldn't fair any worse) Maybe Bales head might fucking shrink a little after watching Waddle do his thing.

Does anyone remember in the same season Jenas scored the FK at Old Trafford he also scored one away at Middlesborough? Says a lot that our most prolific recent(ish) free kick taker is Jenas with 2.

I also fear that after Walker's one and himself admitting it wasn't born out of practice on the training ground but essentially a one off fluke, we're going to have to suffer him put the next 30 into Northumberland Park realising that the Blackburn one was, indeed, a fluke.
