On the table:
  • A fifth league division, League Three, could be created. Each league would have 20 clubs. 100 clubs would be in league football.
  • A winter break is being considered.
  • Removal of the FA Cup replays is on the table as is moving some rounds to midweek. I assume moving the rounds to mid week would have to happen for the PL to remain at 38 games with a winter break.
  • A UEFA like format for the Johnstone Paint Trophy with group play and knock out rounds...As an aside, I would like to see youth clubs in this tournament via a qualification process

Also read that the additional teams in 'League Three' could be Premier League B teams.

No thanks, B teams are a silly idea that people overrate the importance of, when they look abroad to see them producing a lot of players

Winter break? Never!!! They'd never risk the whole of Britain being forced to endure Christmas & new year holidays without the distraction of football to relive the pressure - it would be absolute carnage

If they put in a winter break there will be massive fixture congestion elsewhere. The games need to be played. Most leagues with winter breaks have less teams in the leagues themselves and therefore less games.

Yeah. Im out on the B team thing. Unless it's mandated that the majority of the B team are homegrown with a max of 5 foreigners aged 17-21. I'd rather it be u21 teams if PL teams have a say in L3 at all but ideally it would just be senior clubs and the u21s could be incorporated into the JPT.

I love the no winter breaks thing. Selfishly, Id love to see Christmas day games instead of Boxing Day. I want to wake up at 10 and be treated to a full day of nothing but sports on christmas. Give me PL games on top of the NBA all day, please. As a jew, it would give me something to look forward to. As for the new year slate, NYD games have to be made mandatory, IMO. None of that 2nd or 3rd crap like we had this season. That needs to go. Let me wake up at 10 am and be treated to PL and College Football all day. Plus, a schedule of Dec. 25, 28, Jan. 1 looks less congested than 26, 28, 1.

1) I'm up for a league 3. The conference is pretty competitive as it is so would be good to get more funding.

2) Winter break could be important for us on an international/continental level but I don't want one.

3) don't mind FA cup replays and don't want midweek games. The FA cup is a domestic cup completion that is respected across the world. Over the last few years it is getting devalued so I don't see why they would want to devalue it further. Why not scrap the league cup instead. Pile of shit anyway.

4) JPT changes are fine, it's a good tournament and needs backing.

Doing away with FA cup replays would completely change the nature of it for lower league clubs, as it would deny them the chance of financial windfalls that often keep them from the brink. Think about how many times a plucky underdog gets a draw at home to win the money-spinner replay. Adding an extra league is fine - there are probably too many teams in the Championship and Leagues 1 and 2, but the FA cup should stay as it is, imho.

Less teams in the lower divisions would mean less games and reduced revenue and that would hit poorer clubs hard.

I think we should be hyping up the FA Cup, not devaluing it. Replays are an essential part of the competition for teams from lower divisions.

scrap the league cup. screw fa replay, just go with penalties. if the big boys cant beat the smaller clubs in 120mins then let the small clubs have a go. not second chance for big boys to regroup

How many times do those replays happen where it actually benefits one of those clubs a season? There's absolutely no way those clubs run with the mindset of getting that windfall based on a draw.

The replays fuck up more gameweeks than anyone wants to admit for PL and Championship sides per year than any League side who benefits from it by a very large margin.

PL teams and Championship teams alike now just play a whole rotated 11 in those fixtures now anyway. If you want them to take it seriously then the competition has to stop being detrimental to their other fixtures and therefore replays need to be done away with.

If lower league clubs really care that much then do away with the replay and go to pens so they have a better chance of taking it to the next round which would be more beneficial to them anyway.

Personally I'd use this chance to reduce the premier league to 18 teams as well. They league would be much more competitive for it.

I'm all for a Winter Break as long as they drop the international breaks throughout the season. That's boring as hell.
