They were there for the taking, we have the chance to achieve something yet we see a lacklustre performance with no heart, no commitment, no desire! Oh and of course the penalty, if only Sissoko hadn’t given it away.

You'd think after that outburst it's only two choices, either sack him immediately or ask him if he's willing to be the one to change the culture at the club if they back him 100%.
Madness if he's just allowed to continue until the contract runs out.

For the second time in 2 years we are about to look up and down everyone at the football club, decide someone has to go and choose the only one in the building that's ever won at football before.

This is clever

To be fair he's also the one who was going to walk at the end of the season anyway. Whoever the next manager is they need to get a longer contact so that we don't have this same situation where the chairman doesn't want to invest in players for a manager who might not be around in a years time. That's a criticism of both Conte and Levy before anyone thinks I'm sticking up for either side.

If conte is fed up with the players, then why hasn't he tried bringing in some of the youth to make a point.

It's such nonsense. True winners, like fergie and pep would happily drop the likes of cancelo for Rico Lewis if they aren't pulling their weight.

He's stuck with the same starting core of 14 players since the start of the season.
This is is exactly what invalidates Conte’s arguments. He’s basically saying “I hate them all, but I’m gonna pick them again and again anyway! 😡

Before judging what he said by reading out of context quotes on twitter, watch the whole thing:

It's all about the players, and at the end he says EVERYONE has to take responsibility.

He still needs to go, and he is partly to blame with his tactics and subs, however he is bang on.

Yes, I was banging on about this last night. That presser was purely directed at the players, not Levy.

He might be frustrated with Levy too and desperate to call him out, but he didn’t in that interview last night.

so are we signing players that seem to have this exact same issue as the players we already have at the club? the starting 11 is almost completely different to when Poch was sacked, are the players conte wanted to be signed also suffering from this strange issue? I'm really confused

One of the things I can never get head round with Levy he's clearly a very strategic, analytical person, you couldn't achieve what he has without beingthat way. Every owner makes mistakes but he now has 20 years of his failings and successes laid out in front of him when it comes to manager and player recruitment and yet he still rolls out the same issues. He has a blind spot

How is it a failure?

We are competing at the top, not winning anything is unfortunate but sometimes happens in sport.

There are still bigger and better clubs than us for various reasons.

This is in no way a failure.

Some of those comments were ridiculous, again self preservation
He calls the players selfish, ok who?
Can't be Forster, Skipp and Kane obviously
Porro just signed
Perisic he signed
Romero wouldn't have thought so and recent signing
Son maybe but he has played him all season and not dropped him even though very poor
Lenglet only signed this season
Richarilson injured and only just signed
So that leaves peh and dier and he has played these 2 all season even though their are other options
If the players are selfish why not play others

Carragher makes a good point that Arsenals improvement compared to ours after we beat them to top4 makes a lot of his points invalid.

The board did need calling out but Conte can’t just absolve himself of all the blame as he’s continued to do during his whole tenure with us.

They did the hard yards, Arteta was hated by some of their fanbase. We won a battle but they won a war.

I've been a staunch supporter of Conte and what he has been trying to do- but we should part ways now and get a progressive manager in immediately (not Mason). Then rip up the squad in the summer and start again.

It’s aimed at the players primarily but there’s plenty of slagging off the club and the owners. Last 20 years has nothing to do with current players and completely undercuts any point he’s trying to make

People see what they want to see. This was a combustion and a lashing out at everything, and as such is virtually useless as any kind of motivation
