I just hope he recovers fully. Best to him and his family whatever his future relationship to Spurs may be.

Agreed. If it is Pochettino who gets the job in June, I’ll be fuming. Not because he isn’t the manager I want but because we would’ve wasted 5/6 months sitting on our hands wasting time when he’d return tomorrow if given the opportunity.
It's all about the optics, sacking yet another manager will look awful, regardless of what's the right decision.
I fully agree with you though, if we went on a good run starting now, then top 4 isnt out of the question.

Stellini and Mason masterminded the City win with Dier pushing up and putting pressure on the central midfield. Maybe they have some other good ideas? We'll soon find out!
Yeah I keep reading about this masterplan but didn't he do it a few times vs Leicester leaving gaping holes?

'Ideal' scenario for me is he takes the required period of rest and comes back in June superfuckingenthused.

Levy gets all signings completed before preseason and we go again.

He did, but Romero also did the same.

It's either Dier or the two wide CB's that push up, not all 3. That was the issue against Leicester.

I dont personally think it was the same, he was just caught out of position, not pressing with intent. For the goal where kane got tackled and they scored in transition he was just upfield leaving a free striker in behind him.

Say your goodbyes. Well almost.
what a monumental waste of time and effort , not to mention all the poor buggers like me who forked out on STs believing we were finally going to move forward
All the best Antonio but fuck off to the hierarchy

How would that be ideal?

We still got half a season left to play and Stellini and Mason aren't good enough.

No need to sack him. You could ask him to step aside for health reasons as it is clear he is suffering badly.

Can't see how this is unofficially it. He clearly needs a long rest, there are only a few months left on his contract

Feel bad for him, I've moaned about his demeanour over the last few weeks but its clearly been because he has been very unwell physically as well as the huge emotional impact he must have had from what's happened this year.

Don't know where we go from here, part of me thinks ride out the season with Stellini and Mason and what will be will be. Then someone new comes in - or - we agree he leaves now and someone new comes in. I dont think we are going to do a million times better than those two until the end of season anyway and the last ting the club would want to do is put more pressure on Antonio

Shitty situation. Classic Spurs

Remember when Conte was coming and he was quoted as saying‘I like to kill my players!’

We’ve almost done it to him to poor sod, what a club we are!!

We’re a social experiment I’m sure of it.

In all honesty his health is a good get out clause. He can go and get the much needed rest and take as much time as he needs without a job to worry about. I just wonder what we do next. Temp for the rest of the season? Poch?

Conte clearly needs to rest and recover. So all things considered, fully recovering and coming back super enthused with the remaining pieces of the jigsaw in place before preseason would be ideal, in my opinion.

After Herc's info, it appears to be wishful thinking anyhow.

Said this earlier, keeps everything amicable and neither party loses face

Probably the best way for him to go. Leaves us in 2 cups and not far off top 4 but with illness and everything he's gone through deserves that admiration still. It is only going to get worse for him at this rate. Better to go this way then with us in further mess and fans hating him more. It's a great shame though as I really wanted him to be the one to shake it up and change our approach. Now I can just hope for a takeover and on the plus side if Conte is going we can return to attacking football again.
