I thought he should have started kulusevski in this game. But he got his subs right tonight and also rotated well with those subs.

Devil’s advocate here, but we do have 17 games in the next 10 weeks and some of those are huge, which will shape the rest of our season.

Maybe we have to approach games this way to avoid early fatigue/injuries. Look at Klopp’s team for an example of what would happen if we went full throttle in every game. Sometimes being conservative for periods of a game go a long way.

That being said, the lads need to be a bit sharper on the ball. We were sluggish today. We desperately need someone to take the game by the throat and lift the energy and we don’t seem to have that player at the moment.

We are doing extremely well results wise though so nothing to worry about IMO but something to consider.
I think this is probably the plan. It’s going to be a long hard season and consistency is going to be huge. No, we don’t look very fluid, but we do look solid at the back and we have the players to make a difference and score the goals we need to get results.

Will be interesting to see where we are in the mix after Christmas.

I'm calling it now, but this won't be sustainable long term. Unless Conte does some serious overhauling to his system, we will be drifting towards mid table by the time the WC break arrives. I'm hoping it's just a matter of Bissouma and Skipp getting on the same pace as the rest and being able to help providing enough balance and support to our midfield, but it's likely deeper than that.

I'm not sure what's going wrong since last season, after the arrival of the Juventus kids, I'm quite sure we wouldn't have the likes of Marseille or Forest dictating their terms against us.

The Paratici thread is locked for some reason so I'll pop this in here

I'm a big fan of these videos, yes they have to simplify them and we don't get intricate details but I think just forming a semblance of communication between directors and fans is a positive step and Paratici always comes off well. A couple years ago I felt our club felt outdated with the exception of the stadium but now with Paratici it feels like our approach in terms of staff and infrastructure of the people will employ feels like we are catching up to the top clubs.

Been saying this for a while. I think the slow starts and energy conservation are part of the game plan. I do think we are being too passive as the players haven't yet gotten to grips with exactly how to do this effectively in a game.

Forest.....you mean that game that we should have won 7-1, by admission from the Forest fans aswell......had we been more clinical against Forest & Fulham we could have won both games by huge margins, on top of smashing Southampton 4-1 aswell. Mid table team indeed.

These terms seem to be 'We'll huff and puff and you can take the 3 points'
I don't mind these terms if I'm honest.

Bottom line for me is results > performance, for now at least. We need to get that trophy monkey off our back.

It's not great to watch right now, but it's proving effective so far.

And yet, we won both games.....

They’ve got to soon though. If they can’t grasp it then what do we do? Will have to go a different way I guess. Up to Conte to find that.

I think as long as we are getting results he won't change anything. I doubt he cares too much if the fans are entertained or not, as long as we keep picking up points. It will click sooner or later though I'm sure of that.

I’d love us to shithouse 1-0 nil every week to the title. No one will care about style if it wins silverware.

I think we'd all take it. Deep down I only care about winning, but at the same time entertainment is important and seeing great passing and moving is what football is about. As Bill Nic said it's about doing it in style.

That said, we do score lots under Conte and don't concede many so it's fantastic. I think alot of the angst comes from when we are nil nil in games and playing like crap...as soon as we score and win, nobody cares.
