4-4-2 with Parker and Sandro in midfield... I can't wait to listen to us lose the ball 35,000 times in the middle-third.

I think a lot of the time it will look like Modric, Sandro and Parker in the middle which may leave that left side a little exposed I guess. Am glad that Parker and Sandro are both playing and let's hope that Defoe will have a good game....

4-4-2 with Bale on the right? Not too happy with that. We need Bale to go back to what he's best at and running at the right backs.

Modric on the left wont get on the ball enough either. We really need him central.

Hopefully it still works and we get the much needed win. But I think we may rely on subs today.

Cheers guys. Not sure about this. I always get nervous about 4-4-2 away from home or against the big guns. And after the last couple of games, my bravado has taken a further hit.

Modric out wide again.

Hey ho, should be solid enough in the middle anyways.

I'm happy enough with that. It's a real shame that VDV isn't starting though.

Have some faith people. That's a strong team we're putting out.

I hope bale gets the left side and modders the right, Tbh why dont he put Modric in the hole and play one of either Rose/ Dos santos on the flank??

Same 4 -4 -2 that beat newcastle 5-0?
At home to Newcastle isn't the same as away to Everton though is it?

We lost our last 2 League games with a 4-4-2 as well.

It's not so much the formation though but the shape overall. If it were a 4-4-2 with Bale and Lennon on the wings it would play out better I think.

If only that team was 3 in the middle consisting of Modric, Parker and Sandro and Bale out wide on the left and Ade/Defoe out wide on the right. A 4-3-3. Instead, players out of position, little creativity in the middle.

My brow is furrowed.

If Defoe was going to play then this would be the personnel and formation I would use with Modric on the left and Bale right.

Still would rather we started with Rafa and used a 433/451/4231 approach but at least for all the people clamouring for Defoe to start after 'earning' his right we shall see if this move was merited.
