Disagree, he links up well with his side and helped Udogie get in some dangerous positions at the end where had udogie just put his foot through the ball would have created a chance for us or issues for them
He wants to get to the wing, think he’d be better suited on the other side as he’s too dependent on his left foot.

One thing I’ve noticed with Werner, while I think has been very good so far, is that he’s almost too nice. When a ball is played through and the defender blocks him off he doesn’t jockey or try to use any strength. He just jogs behind them and lets them play a pass back under no pressure. Needs to be more of a shit.

We are only 5 points better off than we were at this stage last season. Not too bad considering.

Agree. I think given we are year 1 into the Ange project (compared to season 2 of Conte), and that we sold our talisman and main goal scorer, and the overall mood around the club, and the way we are playing now compared to this time last year, to be five points better off at this stage is great. And I would expect the difference to grow as the season continues.

Knives are not out, its a football forum, we’re allowed to say that the substitutions are poor and probably cost us 2 points. Please find the posts where people are hating on Ange.
No hatred, knives out just a figure of speech but plenty of critics like bringing on Dragusin etc.
It's a game we should of won but we didn't and that's how football goes, other teams around us will drop points before the end of the season.

Watched the match in the pub surrounded by Evertonians. Really was a horrible match, scrappy and very little quality.
In the end told them to take their championship football and fuck off down to the championship where it belongs

Yes, and we've suffered far more re the impacts on our best players due to injuries/suspensions and AFCON and Asia Cup this year. We're doing really well considering.

Our midfield never got a hold of the game, the strikers didn’t hold it up well enough (barely at all) to relieve pressure. But, Madders and Lolo are recently back from big injuries. Hojbjerg just isn’t great under pressure. Johnson and Werner, they’re not aggressive enough for me. And our defenders, or someone, needs to be helping Vic out in these corners. No one is even blocking a run to pressure him, let alone help him out when they’re on his toes!

Work in progress, with some hefty injuries and absences, all in all, we’re ahead of where we probably should be.

Our game management is awful and has been for a long time , we rarely finish a game on the front foot and seem to rely on the oppositions poor finishing or vic to make wonder saves . Lots of work to do . I’m not sure what the issue is , we have all the defenders back , Lolo and madders to keep the ball but we never seem in control late on in games .

Many of them have just returned from long term injuries recently and far from match fit

Something is wrong if we have to pray for other teams dropping points

Two poor goals conceded today as we did against Brentford and the knives are out for Ange's methods, style of play , substitutions & team selection. What a fickle lot you are.
“Knives are out“ is a bit strong and quite frankly wrong. I haven’t really seen posts that I would consider people having their knives out.

Like the players, Ange is on a learning curve as we never stop learning. Personally, I think the subs were late and PEH should have been the first one off. I don’t think we gained a point today but rather lost two. Fans will have their opinions about the game/team/tactics/manager……….and sometimes we can’t control our emotions when we lose. We have seen what we can do and when we’re firing, we’re a dangerous team to play. Ange is one of if not the best manager I have seen at the club since being a supporter. That does not make him immune to mistakes or criticism. It’s just the nature of the game 👍

Really??

Cam people not see that Maddison and Bentancur are still not up to speed.

The pair of them are had the stride slapped right out of them and are now trying to get back to that.

It takes time.

Neither could last the full game today and we have no Lo Celso or Bissouma, or Son even, to really replace quality with quality.

We still have to turn to Skipp and Hojbjerg. And thats why we cannot be considered title challengers.

Ange had to make those subs.

Everton were always gonna push late, we didnt manage to kill the game off and Werner, Maddison were clearly tiring.

Werner himself hasnt played enough football.

I don't know what people are expecting?

We are still at 80% I'd say.

The other thing is Everton are a fully galvanised team right now. Their fans are reactive to anything but have responded to Dyche's football which is too pump balls up, raise the intensity etc.

For example, we win a corner at home and theres a mild noise from the crowd.

Everton win one at Goodison and their fans are pushing the ball in.

We are not quite there to deal with all that pressure.

I did think we made some poor choices late in the game, constantly coming inside into trouble when the pass could have gone wide Ana forward.

You may give uo the ball but you give it up in an area where you are still in shape and are still goalside.

By throwing it up inside, the crowd responded to that and pushed Everton on more as they obviously feel closer to goal.

I think a big part of the issue is that our midfield is half-crocked or actually unavailable right now. The same goes for our attack to a little lesser extent - Son's away and Kulu is nowhere near 100 since his illness. Players playing more minutes than they would otherwise, and it will take its toll later in games.

Really happy we got Werner. He's been critical in ensuring we've gotten some points last couple of games.

Just seen the highlights and I’m amazed the first Everton goal was allowed to stand. Their player backed into Vicario and unbalanced him. No attempt at playing the ball. Penalties are given for less.
